Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments I discovered that Agatha Christie and the Luna Moth have both appeared on postage stamps.

Kookaburras have been on stamps here in Aus a few times and also the echidna and Tasmanian Devil so maybe there’s a link there with an author. Certainly with Agatha C.

Kirsten | 268 comments Ooh, or sending/getting letters?

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Happy Monday all!

I have a completion post here:
Ship Wrecked (Spoiler Alert, #3) by Olivia Dade
Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Another completion for me!
A Dash of Salt and Pepper by Kosoko Jackson

I have also added some books I've read to the mini!

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments A Haunted House And Other Stories by Virginia Woolf The title story is about ghosts in a house. Would that qualify for a link to our little Casper Octopus? Also has a cover with a lot of leafy trees for the ‘leaf/leafy animal links.

Both of those sound great to me. Good thinking.

And I'm about to read a ghost story for another challenge--I'll totally plan to use it for lil Casper if it's still open.

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments It's probably better then if I use mine for the leafy thing in case we're supposed to have two different types of link. I found that rule a bit ambigous.

I didn't realize that--you use the ghost because it was your clever idea. I can use mine (Spindrift) for either blue-footed booby, narwhal, platypus, or leafy sea dragon!

message 309: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments Actually I think mine is better using the cover perhaps for the leafy seadragon because the ghost is only in one story, so use yours for the ghost if you want. How nice to have multiple choices in case someone else has a book that only fits one of those.

message 310: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 268 comments Will do!

message 311: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Completion Post!

Youngblood by Sasha Laurens

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments What do you guys think of this?

I read this book: Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert

There is a big emphasis and most of the book is about camping, wilderness survival, and tent (set up).

Honduran White Bats are big on tent making and are even called Caribbean White Tent-Making Bats.

Elisabeth, I figured out that we got a 30 pt bonus if we completed a section, so I moved some things around to help make that happen. I’m trying to focus there, so place your books wherever.

I think that works!

message 315: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Yay!

I also have another possible one.

In Six of Crows, Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo there is a main character that does a lot of climbing things (building, incinerator shafts, etc.) and also tends to perch a top high buildings for surveillance and the Bear Cats are known for climbing trees and being high in the trees

That works perfectly!

If anyone wants to go back and look at their books that they completed after April 12, and see if one of them might possibly work for a mini-task, go for it! We have a lot of unclaimed tasks over there

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments If someone has a white cover book to fill the spot on Section 1 I can move A Question of Upbringing by Anthony Powell to the Laughing Kookaburra. There’s a character who laughs all the time.

I might be able to fit in one more book so could do another white cover from the same book series.

message 319: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 268 comments I’m going to try to cover South America, so I don’t want to take on the white book. Unless someone else has that.

message 320: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments When my daughter was tiny she called kookaburras kookiebars. We have quite a few around and about where I live.

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Completion Post!

A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey

message 322: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Completion Post

Legendborn (Legendborn, #1) by Tracy Deonn

message 323: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 268 comments Tiffany, are we supposed to be doing completion posts? I've got 35+ books, and I'd rather not add them if I don't have to.

message 324: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments Nope! It just helps me keep myself acountable!

message 325: by Kylie (new)

Kylie Standley | 83 comments It is officially the LAST DAY of UNO 2023!!

Time to finish up any final outstanding books :) I am going to go through the spreadsheet today, and see if we can add any more books to mini-tasks, and if anything needs rearranging. Thank you all for being amazing teammates this year. It was a blast getting to co-captain for you all!

message 326: by Tiffany (last edited May 01, 2023 05:46AM) (new)

Tiffany Santiago | 115 comments WHOOOOO!! So sad and bitter sweet! Loved playing with ya'll and can't wait until next year!

message 327: by Kylie (new)

Kylie Standley | 83 comments And with the spreadsheet fully updated and all the books logged, that concludes this year's UNO!! The final points and winners will be announced in about 24 hours.

I have had a blast playing with you guys. We completed almost all of the minis and went through all our cards with ease. Hopefully, some of you are going to be playing TT this year. If not, I will hopefully see some of you for UNO next year!

message 328: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 268 comments Thanks, everyone! I loved my first Uno and am looking forward to my first Tower Teams.

message 329: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 947 comments Thanks Team for another fun UNO. Special thanks to our leaders for keeping us on track. The last mini was hard!

I’m doing my second Tower Teams, Kirsten. Not as fast paced as UNO so you can read the longer books in your TBR pile.
