Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments I just watched the first season of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. It is pretty good. Instead of one book per season they mashed the first four or five cases into one season with the police corruption flowing through each episode. I liked it even though it didn't follow the books exactly, the characters are true to the books.

It’s called Three Pines on Amazon (wonder why they changed the name?).

Sharon, I changed the header to indicate the book series name.

~Melissa~ | 46 comments My daughter and I started this the other day. I think we've watched 6 episodes. I'm really enjoying it way more than I thought I would as I read book 1 and didn't really connect.

@Sharon - thanks for confirming the police corruption, because that was what I was thinking from episode 1. (view spoiler)

I believe they changed the name because of the way they melded the first five of six books together. In the series, there are many crimes in Three Pines but also in areas in Montreal. The crimes in the series are all in Three Pines.

I just read that Three Pines was filmed in Montreal. It is a beautiful area.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what to make as the title.

Robin (robinmy) | 1362 comments I stumbled across this series on Prime and thought I'd give it a try. Just finished Episode 4 today. Loved both of the mysteries so far. Looks like I'll have to give the books a try.

I loved this series. I hope they do another season.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments Robin, I think the series is well done and faithful to the book as much as possible when moving to a TV series.

I love the books. I read a couple, and then it takes me a few months to get back to them, but every story is excellent. I keep hoping the series will be one of our group reads to keep me focused.
