Hi!

I've been in a reading slump for quite some time now and I'd love some book recomendations! My two favourite books that I read last year were 'A Monster Calls' and 'Ready Player one'. I'm a big lover of both fantasy and Science Fiction and would love some book recomendations!

Please let me know of any books that you'd recommend!

- Thanks,

Adele.

They aren’t along the same theme of RPO, but it is my favorite book and I did really enjoy these books

Artemis (Andy Weir) very fun book about a female protagonist living her rebellious life on the moon

Project Hail Mary (Andy Weir) very science intensive book, similar to the Martian. Very problem is presented and troubleshooting ensues to find a solution.

Skyward (Brian Sanderson) I binged the entire series and book for release this year. Dystopian world, human military pilots jets to fight against an unknown enemy, the story follows a female protagonist who is ridiculed and hated due to mistakes made by Past family members. It follows her and her struggle to overcome obstacles in pursuing her dream to become a pilot.

Love Ready Player One as well. And enjoyed Ready Player Two.

I've also enjoyed some LitRPG stuff as that scratches the fantasy and sci-fi itch. Recently binged the Respawn series by Arthur Stone.

Like the other commenter, I did like Project Hail Mary - though it's a bit isolationist for me. I tend to not like books with just one or two characters - but it and his earlier effort, the Martian, were exceptions for me.

It's been a couple of years, but the Checquy books by Daniel O'Malley were enjoyable, particularly the first book, The Rook.

The Grand Hotel by Scott Kenemore was an interesting read.

Also enjoyed A Door Into Time by Shawn Inmon.

Hope that helps. Happy reading!

Hi Adele!

Ready Player One is one of my absolute favorite sci-fi books ever (top 5 for sure, maybe top 3), so you might want to check out my other favorites. They're series, actually:

The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells (5 novellas and one novel so far)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I will check out A Monster Calls because you liked it!

David
