Ruth I’m reading a very good thriller called The Lie by Kathryn Croft. It has my head torn in different directions as to what happened to a teen girl as she tried to protect others from being bullied. It’s a very interesting twist on the topic. It has family members taking sides, neighbors taking sides. And a grieving mother that has it in her head who did it and is trying to place evidence around so this person gets faulted.

Anne (w/ an E) (mzcatnthehat) | 156 comments I am in a major slump and can't get into reading at all. I have a few excellent books waiting to be read, but I can't get going.

message 3: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I’ve been doing that for a few weeks. I’ve started so many books and put them down to find something else. I need to stay focused. I have been reading a lot of Nicole Trope books. Really enjoyed several of them.

message 4: by Lady_fries (new)

Lady_fries 😭 I haven’t been able to read a book in 2weeks. Idk might hop back on this next month.

Chris | 730 comments I am reading Sworn to Silence by Linda Castillo first book in her series. Read a few by her and they were very good

message 8: by Aarya (new)

Aarya Jadhav Heyy! I recently completed Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney. It is a good book, as everyone said, the ending has an amazing plot twist. But, the book is boring and difficult to connect with the characters.

message 9: by Aarya (new)

Aarya Jadhav Currently, I am reading The Seven Death of Evelyn Hardcastle, and it is interesting! ❤️

message 10: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Aarya I agree with you on Paper, Rocks, Scissors. It was hard to keep up with the first half. That ending though almost made up for it. She also wrote Daisy Darker and is one of my favorite books! Try that one.

message 11: by Ruth (new)

Ruth My daughter in laws name is Aarynd. When I saw Aarya’s name I thought my DinL joined the book club.

message 12: by Deb (new)

Deb | 13 comments I just finished Daisy Darker and really like it. Currently reading I Will Find You by Harlen Corben - and it is great

message 13: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I have I Will Find You on my to be read list.

message 14: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Daisy Darker sure made me think twice being in a dark room…even with loved ones. Lol. Loved it.

message 15: by Chris (new)

Chris | 730 comments Hey Ruth, how ya doing. I've been going thru my bookshelf and reading books from way back when was catching up for a bit when my bookshelf looked like I was really reading. I need a page turning book that grabs me in the first couple of pages instead either that or I'm not in the reading mood.

message 16: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I hear you on that Chris. We had family down last weekend and I told them I would send books back with them because I was cleaning off the bookshelf. Lol. I would take a book off the shelf put it in the box and then before I was finish I would have what was in the box back on the shelf. My daughter was helping me and thought it was hysterical that I kept changing my mind. Some books I just can’t release because I know I’ll reread. They did take a box of about 15 books back with them because I had to send something after promising them.

I just got rid of a box of books but believe it or not my shelves are still full. Really have to go through all of them but how can you get rid of a book you haven't read lol.

Teri Trammell | 2 comments The wives, by Taryn Fisher. Very good book with an unreliable narrator.

message 23: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I love Taryn Fisher!!!!

message 24: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I think Tarryn Fisher co wires some with Colleen Hoover.

message 25: by Miranda (new)

Miranda Gonyeau | 1 comments I really enjoyed the wives, it made me appreciate books with unreliable narrators because the twists are so much better! If there any recommendations for those would love to hear!

message 29: by Ruth (new)

Ruth After downloading it, I realized that I too had already read it.

message 30: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda | 4 comments Many authors change covers. Then rerelease books. Jaws is coming back with a new cover. Some even alter the name. Patterson did that in the beginning before taking on writing partners.

message 31: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Colleen Hoover actually wrote Verity (awesome book btw) and recently wrote another chapter (it was worth it). So if you bought the books a few years ago, you need to buy the second Verity with the extra chapter. This book was a best seller. She actually sold the same book twice. Lol. So worth it though.

message 34: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I’ve just ordered Cajun Justice. I love corruption, greed, and extortion…as long as it’s fictional. Lol. Patterson is such a gem writer.

Not sure but when I go through my kindle books there are several books that I can upgrade what it means I have no idea bc seriously if you have the book why would you want to pay another $10 for an extra chapter.

message 36: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Lol. I bought the hardbacks so I spent another $20. I just loved the story. Books that are special to me, I buy hardbacks…even if I’ve already read them. It’s some addiction. I’m hoping to reread them all again.

Ruth Madison is baaaaaack! I’m opening a thread here in a little while for CJ HHeigelmann’s new book Can’t Stop What’s Inside. I’m sure you all remember the first book in the series Can’t Hide What’s Inside…we had some lively, intense, and interesting discussions about the first book. The thread from the first book is still up and it was a very well received book. CJ has graciously offered to send you the ebook, so grab one and let’s discuss. I’m opening the thread thinking we can start off by remembrances of the first. Remember it was relevant and hit so many of todays issues that made it feel authentic! I’m really excited to see where Madison lead her life since book one.
