My Word Against His by Lauren North
329 pages
NetGalley

/review/show...
My Word Against His is a really great thriller novel. A jaw dropping, page turner, full of twist book! The plot is really good. You thought you knew how it ends but you will never guess whats happens next. The author reveals a lot of secrets before 50% of the book and you thought you knew everything but not until the big revelation at the end. Just wow! Kudos to the author! I really enjoyed reading this book. I want more of this!! 4.5/5
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC. Its bit late, I really forgot to update my books and read it after the publishing date.

Friendship like no other!
Its quite different from the first book but I love this one! Wendell did save Marjorie and Eliza! How ironic that Wendell was a ghost itself. This is why I like reading graphic novels its so light yet teach you a lot of lessons in life. Will definetely read the next book! I recommend this book!

The Handmaid's Tale is a very well written book about a dystopian society where the child-bearing women are rounded up and forced to produce children for the barren Wives. It's a really interesting plot and I did enjoyed reading this book. I can't believe this was written in 1980s. Margaret Atwood really is a phenomenal writer. Will definetely recommend this to my friends. The ending is bit too hanging but will definitely read the 2nd book. 4/5.

Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

/review/show...
This novel proves how our minds works magic. Yellowface bought us to the world of writers and publishers, how they were inspired and all. It also allow us glimpse of how easy it is for social media to throw things that we work hard on. How powerful connections are. Idk what to say, sometimes i dont like the mc but sometimes i'm eager for her to fight back. It talks more about racism which is in all the author book but this is with a twist. Kudos to the author she really writes the best. Great plot and interesting characters! Just another brilliant work of R.F. Kuang! Would recommend this book. 4.5/5

Kristin Hannah and her historical fiction books are superb. Another heartbreaking novel but was well written. This novel tackles how hard life is for everyone, men and women on great depression years. It's about the story of Elsinore, a brave woman and a dedicated mom to her children. A warrior that fights for the good of her children. I truly loved how the author shares stories of empowered women thru historical writing. Will definitely read more works of Kristin Hannah. 4.5/5

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

The Gilded Wolves. It is based on some history and a world that is separated into 4 france. It was quite messy and a lot to take in at first but as you read more you will be able to understand the concept. The plot is okay, though there's a lot of pov's, I like that the characters are diverse and each has their own specialty. The ending was quite cliffhanger and i'm aleeady looking forward to read the next book. 3.5/5

Paper Names is a beautiful story of a chinese immigrant who once dream of a better life in America for his wife and daughter. (Funny that one of his reason to fight and try to live in America is to get a refrigerator lmao) Its a multiple perspective of different life struggles and success as a chinese living the american dream. It was well written and the plot is okay. I love Tony's life quotes though. Its an inspiring story that really happens in real life. 3.5/5 Highly recommend this book.

Falling is a breath taking thriller suspense novel. Its full of action and tension. What a ride! Its cliche and the plot kinda similar to others yeah but I like how well written it is the way the characters reacts and how the author describes each scenes. This would be a good movie though. The pilot and his family is so calm in handling such situation idk if it happens in real life though. 3.5/5

The Dragon's Promise by Elizabeth Lim

The Dragon's Promise is a full packed action and adventure of shiori in fulfilling her promise to her stepmother to find the owner of the pearl. Six Crimson Cranes was one of my fave fantasy read last year but I was a bit disappointed with the sequel. I was hoping for more twisty plot. But I still enjoyed the ending even though theres still a lot of questions it seems the book was made fast. 3.5/5

Counterfeit is a short and quick reads that had some of good entertaining moments. Its about two reconnecting college roommies that creates a business that counterfeits luxurious handbags. Its quite interesting how detailed the author dive into how the process of doing the business. I was just disappointed, it has a good intro but then i didn't like how it goes and end. But still it was a fun read after all. 3/5

Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher
494 pages
Kindle Unlimited and Libby
June-18-2023
/review/show...
Terms and Conditions is a fake relationship that turns into a real one. I love this book more than the first book. I just like how they handle their differences and how they work things out for their relationship. Though the daddy issue of Declan is a bit draggy. Glad that he proves that he is not like him and he is capable of love. 4.5/5

The Awakening by Caroline Peckham

The Awakening has a great plot might dive into the next book. It's so addictive, I just hate the bullying and there's a lot of it in this book. Hope that the next book has lesser bullying scene. Though I love the concepts that everything in Solaria World is influenced by the stars. Amazing world building. 3/5

Drowning is another breath taking, action packed, thriller novel from TJ Newman. Its so gooooooood! This should be an amazing movie someday. Great plot and the diversified characters. I was just confused on first few chapters due to multiple povs and names of characters. Also the audiobook helps a lot to make it more suspenseful each chapters. What I love about the author is how detailed she made her novels, I just recently read her first novel, Falling which was also thoroughly detailed. Kudos! 4/5
