I just finished reading Navigating the Stars and posted it for Task 5.4. Can I use the next book in the series, Chasing the Shadows, or did I need to read the first book before June 1st 2023?

You can absolutely read the first within the same season :)

Long Black Curl"
Music is in the MPG, so absolutely, go for it :)

Thanks.

Thanks."
I am so sorry I never got the notification for this, absolutely you can

Unfortunately the MPG for this one does not include young adult, but new adult- sorry about that! When you are on goodreads mobile, scroll all the way down on a books page and the grey genres at the bottom are what are classified as MPG's, on the computer it is the grey genres that run along side the book cover and underneath the blurb, I hope this helps

That is odd, could you have overlooked it? For me it gives the MPG "Young Adult" as well as "New Adult" on the mobile app, as well as on the website..?
For what it's worth, I'm seeing Young Adult under the "...more" clickable on the web version of GR.
Screenshot: (I'm not sure why it's saying "may contain adult imagery", I assume it's because the cover model is topless).

When constructing my first ever challenge, I struggled to think of three options that stuck to one theme and also related to myself, as I am a bit of a jack of all trades- I have far too many interests to narrow down one straight theme for my first ever task, so lets throw three in the mix and hope one sticks! No question is a stupid question, I am more than happy to answer any questions in the help thread and check any books you are unsure on.
Choose an option and read one book for that option. Minimum 250 pages.
Option 1:
I am big on sustainability and recycling, and I am also a volunteer youth worker, so let’s smash those two ideas together for the first option!
Find a book that you have previously read with the MPG Youth, Teen or Young Adult, and read any other book by the same author.
For example:
If you previously read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
You can read The Casual Vacancy or Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Required: state the original book.
Option 2:
Being a musician, I personally enjoy a good read about music, or musical figures!
Read a book that has either MPG music,
OR read a book from this list
Muscial Instruments in Title
Required: If using the list option, state the page of the list the book was found on.
Option 3:
My birthday is right at the end of this challenge on the 25th of August, and I am always excited to read a book published or set within my birth year.
Read a book first published within the year of your birth, or the year of my birth -1999
Required : State the the year of your birth or state that you're using 1999.
