The main character is a boy who dreams and tries to hide it. The governemnt finds out and sends him to electro therapy to fix him so that he does not dream anymore. At the end of the book he meets a rebelious group where the head of the rebellion is able to stay awake while he dreams. The governemnt sees dreamers as dangerous and wants to get rid of them.
