I finished this one last night and thought it brilliant! Fast paced and action packed, it's a great start to a new series. Here's my review:

I also thought this was a good start to a new series. Bonnie is a great character with good instincts and it was good to see Charlie Cooper transplanted to this series. The new characters in Cooper's team are also interesting and there were some good twists.

Catherine Lee did a good job of dealing with a difficult topic and painting a realistic picture of a controlling man and why his wife went along with that.

Do you know if she has any more Getaway Bay novels in the pipeline? It's been a while since the last one.

As far as I know she has - she wants to do the full 26 of the alphabet. I think she's been concentrating on this one though..

I imagine this one took longer to write. Maybe she'll write a Getaway Bay mystery next!

She might :) She said this was hard to write, with a lot of intense research needed, plus needing to take a breath or three...

It must have been a really hard topic to write about, because it does happens to women all the time, and it must have taken an emotional toll to have to read about that when researching for the book.

I think writing a nice light cosy next would help dispel the darkness :)
