If no one wants to, I don't mind being team captain.
And as far as teams names...I don't even know where to start. I'm bad at coming up with names

I thought I was in a maze finding my way here ! :P
Sunshine, I am so glad to be in the same team with you.. this is my fourth challenge with you, like by far the most I have been with anyone on a team ! So yaay ! :D
Laila, Sadie, Ashley.. Hii ! *waves*
This is gonna be fun ! :D

I'm bad with names too. The only thing that keeps popping in my head is "2nd is the Best" (you know, 1st is the worst...) *cringes* I know, not very good. LOL

2 Fast 2 Furious
Twice the Fun
Two Hot to Handle
Double Whammy
Two for Tango

Shh Sunshine. Dont you give my cover away. ;)

So if everyone is in agreement, we'll go with Sadie as captain and 'Two Hot to Handle' for team name?

I am right here and keeping a tab on things. So, dont worry !
I will update my post as soon as narrow down a book. Sorry for the delay !

Book: Temptation Rising
Series or Alternate: #1 in a Series and Purple Cover
Date Completed: 03/24/15
Rating: 2.5 stars
Review: I liked this book but it did not have enough romance for me. I found myself bored with the whole rogue story. That might just be because I have read too many shifter books and rogues always seem to be a part of them. Anyways I will not be continuing this series. The promise of Nicks story did not draw me in.

This is a book about Lily and Lo, best friends who fake a romantic relationship in order to hide their secret addictions from their family. Lily is addicted to sex and Lo is an alcoholic. Eventually their fake relationship becomes real, and they soon find that they can no longer keep their addictions hidden from friends and family. It took a while for me to get into the book - I'm not really sure why because I really enjoyed the book - but once I hit the 50% mark I couldn't put the book down. I've never read a book about someone with a sex addiction, so it was interesting to see what that reality would be like. The authors did a great job showing it as an addiction and how it completely just consumed Lily's life and negatively affected her relationship with her family. I also really enjoyed the character of Lo and his relationship with Lily. These are two people who really loved and supported each other, but were selfish in enabling each other of their addictions. I like how the book ended with a hint of hope. I will definitely read the next books in this series.

Sorry for being in the dark, work has been a little bit of a pain this week.

Such a great book! Atticus has tons of humor but doesn't come off as a smart ass. He knows when to keep his mouth shut. His Irish wolfhound, Oberon, is great too. His current idol is Genghis Khan and he want's a harem of French Poodles! lol. I love the relationship between the two. Atticus shows affection for Oberon and proves he more than just a faithful sidekick. I did think the whole section with the cops at his business was too easy cleaned up, but over all, I couldn't put this down. I snuck reading it at work! Shhhh!

I am so sorry to be a slacker this week. It indeed is infuriating when real life comes into way of the reading life.
But well, I guess we all have those unavoidable days.

Book Read : Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster | Jon Krakauer | 25Mar2015
Rating : ★★★★
Review
Jon Krakauer gives a stunning account of his attempt at conquering the mighty monster in 1996 with a slew of others. While he goes into pretty extensive detail in describing his arduous journey to the top, it’s what happens when he reaches the summit that is both captivating and terrifying. Greeted by a terrible and destructive storm, Krakauer and his teammates struggled for survival in an attempt to make their way back down the mountain. Some made it, others didn’t. In fact, some of those who survived did so with extraordinary feats of strength coupled with an undying will to make it off of that mountain.
This was an interesting and thrilling story of the erratic nature and its collision with multiple human errors, cockiness and irresponsibility amongst experienced and non-experienced professionals.

#3 in a Series

Book: The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire by Molly Harper
Series or Alternate: #3 in a Series
Date Completed: 03/27/15
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I have been a fan of Molly Harper since I read the Nice Girl's Don't series. This book was alright. I enjoyed Gigi and Nik's relationship but I wanted more. I am always all about the romance. I would have liked more of the backstory of when they first met when he was in his "zombie" mode. Anyways overall good read that might join my vast collection.

Rating: ✮✮
New take on Zombies. Would give more towards a 3.5. Once you are infected, these little metal shards fuse to your spinal cord and slowly take over your body. This leaves you as a weirdly metal spiked/ melted iron-looking creature, who, of course, wants to eat people. There's no known reason where this came from. Space? Lab? Government?
The first part of the story just follows a sparse crew on an oil rig up in the Artic Circle before the zombies float onto the scene upon a cruse ship. There's a little murder mystery in the background which I don't feel was necessary. I did like the bit that was from the POV of a certain character as they became infected and how the brain/body slowly changed. Then there was some stuff happening straight out of an episode of Lost. And true to the show, no explanation was given, just, poof!, now go with it...

I really liked this book. This is a book about Anna, who is a Nephilim - half angel and half demon. She is a goody-goody, which reading other reviews bothered other readers. But I didn't mind so much, just because she was part angel. She learns about her demon side, and does experiment more with that side of her. I loved her relationship with Kaidan, who is also a Nephilim but part demon/part human. I loved seeing his good side come out for Anna. Can't wait to find time to get through book 2.

Uff, GoodReads had me panting for a minute there ! Could not open the page at all.
Note to self: Post your review as soon as you finish the book. DO NOT wait till the last minute !

Book Read : The Year of Magical Thinking | Joan Didion | 31Mar2015
Rating : ★★
Review
In The Magical Year of Thinking, Joan Didion creates a cerebral, searing, and brutal portrayal of grief. Just days before Christmas of 2003, Didion's daughter, Quintana, fell ill and began life support. Then, while eating dinner around a week later, Didion's husband, John, suffered a massive and fatal coronary. In this book, Didion attempts to pull apart the vestiges of her former reality and reflect on her marriage and her family, before she lost her life as she knew it.
There does not exist one right way to grieve. Didion has an analytical, academic approach to her grief, at least as she portrays in it The Magical Year of Thinking. She approaches concepts such as the meaningfulness of death and the castigation of self-pity with unflinching honesty. As someone who has love and lost, I found Didion's approach heartrending and intriguing, even if I myself could not relate too much to the way she processed emotion. The book felt slim, and Didion's writing packs a punch, even if their impact fell in similar ways at times.

Book: Children of Andromeda: Lords of the Sea by Kaitlyn O'Connor
Series or Alternate: Standalone
Date Completed: 04/03/15
Rating: 1 star
Review: This book sucked. The main character was so whiny and there were constant misunderstandings between the main couple. All of which were stupid. I also thought it was weird that the women propose. I like alpha men. I do not want to wear the pants. When the hero started talking about withholding sex to gain a commitment I almost stopped reading.

I've never read a mermaid book before and I'm not against reading another one, but this book was just not for me. There was too much issue about Sara's "disability" then any real story line. I found her mother to be an absolute lunatic. She rants too much and she's all you-know-how-hard-it-was-for-me? Xanthus is supposed to be this great warrior for his people but he seemed too soft to me

Thank God, this week I wont be rushing myself and you guys ! :P

Book Read : Eleanor & Park | Rainbow Rowell | 04Apr2015
Rating : ★★★★
Review
Rainbow Rowell captures the essence of adolescence with such skill. The book revolves around the relationship between Eleanor, a big girl with an even bigger personality, and Park, the one Asian kid in his entire high school. Both characters experience the awkwardness of trying to talk to strangers, the difficulties of fitting in, and the feeling of flight that comes with first love. They build the foundation of their relationship on a shared love of music and comic books, but it becomes so much more.
Highly recommended for fans of young-adult contemporary romance, or anyone searching for a story that will bring back their teenage years. If Eleanor and Park is any indication, YA novels will help me maintain my youth.. hopefully.

This is the 2nd book in the Searching For series, which is a spinoff to the Marriage to a Billionaire series. I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first book. Kennedy is part owner of Kinnections, a matchmaking agency, and Nate is a client looking for a woman to be his wife. When we first meet him, outwardly he is the ultimate nerd - dressed in a white lab coat, too big clothes, pocket protector, thick glasses, and unibrow. And despite his good intentions, he comes off as rude and disrespectful to women, mostly because everything he's learned about how to treat women is from his older brother who is only interested in one-night stands. Right away Kennedy can see that he's just misguided, and with a little tweaking would be a great catch. I really loved their instant connection. I loved that despite his nerdy exterior, Nate was strong mentally and emotionally, and had no problems going after what he wanted in all aspects of his life. I loved that despite her tough and perfect exterior, Kennedy was secretly very vulnerable and a closet nerd. And pretty much like all the series I read, I really enjoyed seeing characters from the previous books make an appearance and seeing how their happily ever afters turned out. There are some hints in this and the previous book about who the next couple will be, and I really like both characters so I'm excited to see how their story will play out.
