Gigi’s son Christopher Prescott, Jr. and his wife Judith (Lyra’s parents) try to have her committed to gain control of her money after burning through his trust fund. Lyra continues blocking them as best she can with help from her two brothers. Thoughts on Chris as both a son and father? And the brothers?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2911 comments Chris is an a**. He cared nothing for the legacy his parents left. His only thought was how he could get more of their money. I loved that Lyra's brothers agree and support her in this. Gigi and Lyra's brothers love her. Her parents love themselves, first, last and always. No one else matters.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1191 comments Lyra's parents are greedy, and it doesn't see to be from nature or nurture (although we don't get much about her mother's family history).

I think I expected a tad more from the brothers in active support, but they were good guys as far as that went.

Robin (robinmy) | 2413 comments I expected the brothers to step up a little more too, Charlene. They seem to let Lyra do all of the work of keeping the parents in line. At least they support what Lyra is doing and don't want to see the parents get grandma's money.

I think the story would have been better if was geared more toward Lyra (and Sam) stopping her parents from succeeding in getting Gigi's money.

I also wanted more from Lyra's brothers. I was glad they support her, but thought they should get more involved instead of dumping the load on her.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3396 comments I have a different view. I thought that the brothers own the ranch and have to protect that from their parents. Lyra was given the house and she protected that property and they all protected the grandmother. Since the boys aren't California residents, I don't think they can do much there unless Lyra calls them for backup.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2911 comments I agree Sharon. The brothers were in contact with Lyra and all she had to do was call and they would have been there for her.

Great point, Sharon! I look at it differently now. Thanks for sharing.
