I'm so glad you 3 stepped forward. The continuation of this group makes me so very happy.

I also appreciate you 3 continuing this group! Thanks!

I've been out of the loop for a few seasons and had been planning to come back at the end of the year, so was devastated to see that the group might no longer be here. You've inspired me to get back on the reading trail. I'll do my best to support the new Mods however I can.
And I also want to place on record my thanks and appreciation to the departing Mods. A stellar group!

I really feel that Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ wants me to read A Separate Peace by John Knowles, which I feel I had not heard of before 2 weeks ago, and now it seems to appear every time I search a task ....

I know what you mean! I usually look at the reviews and either add it to my wishlist or decide it's not for me.
I gave A Separate Peace 5 stars, but it was not an easy read emotionally.

I just posted - and I hope there's no mistake! Joanne is right - I hesitated because I felt pressure about being first. No idea why!!

I am reading two books, one for a 10 and one for a 15. I had just wanted to read the first para of the 15 but then got interested in his story.

You're #1!

I just posted - and ..."
Thanks for taking the pressure off! Still have not posted as the book does not fit where I thought it did 😅

That's a good sales pitch! I really liked Ready Player One - even though I potentially am older than the target audience. I'll have to put this book on my TBR.

Right?! I’m totally the target demographic for both Ready Player One and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow…I think I’m so firmly in that demographic that i can’t fathom anyone NOT loving this book!
While reading, it reminded me of a cross between Ready Player One and Daisy Jones & The Six—both of which were five star reads for me so it makes sense that i loved this one so much

Wow! Now I feel like a slacker! ha, ha..... My problem has been I seem to be attracted to mysteries from the same years (surprisingly, NOT a lack of focus!).

I've had a similar problem, one probably shared by all. I'm missing a lot of early years. I can pick several up with the Dickens task - the authors were born before 1870. The Scrabble task picks up another nearly 1/2 dozen.
And just so everyone knows, this wasn't on my radar when selecting/writing tasks.

Just started Life Class by Pat Barker, reach the third page and the character is walking towards the same Russell Square.
How often does that happen?!?

I meant to post at the start of the Rosh Hashanah holiday on Friday night, but I was at services and then forgot.
I hope everyone has a sweet and happy new year.

Parker's acclaim and his thorough background in classic detective literature helped earn him the somewhat unusual commission of completing a Philip Marlowe novel that the great Raymond Chandler had left unfinished.
Bingo! And why haven’t I bothered with Parker before?!!

Posting a lot of books at once is not much of a problem this early in the season as opposed to the last few days.

Anyway, how is everyone doing? I'm on track to finish the Mystery challenge. I have visions of maybe (only maybe) finishing Celebration of Styles.

Currently I have read half the 10s, started 1 of the celebrations, and finished 1 of the 20s. I am a bit surprised as it wasn't until recently that I thought to check my progress. I doubt that I will finish any of the three sections, though.
