This made me think I got it. Lol.

Then I see Meredith’s emojis. 😂 I’m dead.

You once set out to help others find their perfect partner. It would be a paw showing if you missed this chance for yourself. Trust your instincts. And if you can't trust those then maybe look to one of three options for a solution to this dilemma.
The stars of Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius shine brightly in your night sky.

message 207: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3131 comments I'm going to guess then that Leo is Herc by Phoenicia Rogerson?

Since that was the one you pointed out in my personal horoscope and I did indeed give it 5 stars?!

Listen, this is not my fault. I do not function well with the unknown.

I need help people!

Anna (vegfic) | 10423 comments Oh noooo, you'll need a vacation *after* this, not during! XD

message 212: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3131 comments Okay last one because i'm driving myself crazy. And I'm still not convinced that the *one* book out of 87 attempts is not Between Two Thorns... lol

is Pisces: Shark Heart by Emily Habeck

If you listened to the nonexistent audiobook more than once.

message 215: by CBRetriever (new)

CBRetriever | 5910 comments There are three books listed in the poll now (hover over the astrology name to see them)

message 216: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3131 comments I misread Allison’s comment. Lol. I think she meant the one single one I guessed correctly rather than the 86 I guessed wrongly. 😂

message 217: by Anna (last edited Nov 22, 2023 03:01PM) (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10423 comments So two nights ago I gave you a clue.
You're taking too long! Here's clue number two:

A book's on the shelf, or actually two?
A magical one, and a bender, too.

We're a club of two genres after all.
We cover both sides of the SFF wall.

A choice will decide, will two become three?
Both sides have their ups and downs, that's key.

The two.. maybe three authors that seem to fit this best are:
Jo Walton (Just City for Bender, and Among Others for Magical)

Claire North (Touch for Bender and Fifteen Lives of Harry for magical?)

Cathrynne M. Valente also has two on the shelf (Deathless and In the Night Garden which is branded as Science Fantasy in the genre tags)

Other authors that also have two but don't seem to fit as well: Sheri Tepper, Diana Wynne Jones, Barbara Hambly, and Robin Hobb. T. Kingfisher also has two on the shelf, at a glance both seem pretty firmly in the magical/fantasy category but maybe someone better versed can take this and run with it....

ETA: also Rivers Solomon has two, one in SF and one in Fantasy but i don't think their other book The Deep is long enough for consideration.

Editing again to add: okay there's more than that, but this is what I came up with based on what I know about Anna and also on books eligible for nomination.

When reaching for the stars, don't forget to consult the constellation. Share your calculations with the world for them to take effect.

Those are great guesses Mihai but 4/5 are already on the shelf and we try not to duplicate

We need more (fantasy centered) cryptic hints...

message 248: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10423 comments I’ve asked Allison and Ryan to do clues for their fantasies. As in the fantasy books they picked, not anything unsuitable for delicate sensibilities 😅

(You’ve guessed two of mine.)

Anna! very spicy this week haha

message 250: by SFFBC, Ancillary Mod (new)

SFFBC | 779 comments Mod
Special Black Friday Horoscope:

Today, with Sagittarius ascendant, Anna's spiciness is understood, given the name of the reigning book of this part of the sky.

Not seasonally appropriate, but it appears that Leo, by some strange alchemy, is presently within reach. it reminds us that we can always make our own way in life, and that people who tell us who they are should be believed.
