Shawn | 192 comments Challenge #12 - Series Books Start, Continue, Complete

I'm currently in the middle of The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King which is the 2nd book in the Dark Tower series.

So for starters I would like to finish

The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King - a 2023 hold over. (4.27.24)

I would like to complete the series - reading the following books:

The Waste Lands
Wizard and Glass
Wolves of the Calla
Song of Susannah
The Dark Tower

Welcome! I hope you have a great reading year. I really like both Daniel Defoe and Daphne du Maurier. They are authors I discovered due to this group. Have fun!

I hoped that The Last of the Mohicans would have won our recent poll, it might have been the nudge I needed. It's been on my shelf way too long. I agree with Lynn, Defoe and du Maurier are worth reading. Have a good year.

Shawn | 192 comments Finished an Alternate for Challenge 1 - Rabbit, Run by John Updike

I really enjoyed this one - for the first 4/5 of the book. The ending left me wanting more. I felt like the conclusion was different than I wanted / needed. The very final scene is exactly what I expected and it makes sense in the whole scheme of things. The build- up to the finale left me a little disappointed.

Overall, a 4 start rating.

Rora Good luck on your challenge Shawn, you have many good books on your list.

Wobbley | 2261 comments That's too bad; I always find it so disappointing when a book I really like has an unsatisfying ending. Hopefully the next one is a clear winner!

Shawn | 192 comments I feel like I haven't posted here in a while. I have been updating the challenges, but nothing more. I feel good about what I've accomplished so far this year. I have a plan to knock off a few more before the year is over. I feel like this has been my best buffet challenge yet!
