Wow, this is so true. When it mentioned that presidential debates used to be 7 hours long, I audibly gasped. I could not imagine focusing for that long. It is so true that people's knowledge these days is "broad and thin." I'm especially guilty of that; I love to read/watch short, informational clips. That's why I love the New York Time's Morning newsletter- they literally only give a sentence of information on most topics with a link if you want to know more.

It said at the end "we have a population that becomes pacified that no longer is capable of the kind of sustained reflection and analytical thought."

Oh no. I might be heading in that direction 🤭 I must read more.

I know the waiting is hard, and sometimes we think nothing can measure up to what we had before. But I was reading proverbs today, and it says “the blessing of the LORD it maketh rich, and he added no sorrow to it.�� This verse shows that when God blesses his children, he does so abundantly, with no heavy or sorrowful strings attached

I faced something similar but with a best friend, and having her leave my life was the worst thing that’s ever happened. My self esteem also declined, and I just couldn’t go about my day normally

But I found comfort and refuge in Scripture, and God reminded me numerous times that when he takes something away, he’ll replace it with something even better than before

Lo and behold, to this day I see how God has fulfilled his promise and is faithful indeed! He never fails and sees you, girl!

Remember you are beautifully and wonderfully made, and he knows you, inside and out. And knowing that fact, he is preparing someone that is just right for you ❤️❤️

@Evangelise, I'll be praying for you! I cannot completely imagine what it would have been like for you to go through all that! I don't know what this person told you or possibly even did to you, but you are an amazing, wonderful person who is fearfully and wonderfully made and made in God's image. Toxicity is awful, and I really wish you never had to go through any of that. Tbh, I don't really know what to say to encourage you because my case is different, and I'm nowhere near where you are, but it will get better. It will only last for a season of your life, not all of it.

Very random, but has anyone else here read any Frank Peretti? I ask bc I've binge-read most of his stuff and almost no one has heard of him 😅

If not, I HIGHLY recommend his work. He's a conservative Christian author and he makes AMAZING Christian thriller novels (I will say they CAN be a little scary at times but it's reaaaaaaaally amazing, like I cannot put the book down till I'm done good). Personally I recommend "This Present Darkness" and "The Oath" but his other ones are really good too! They generally include some element of spiritual warfare and fighting demonic forces, but it is SO good. I'm telling y'all 😂

I read two or three Peretti books years ago, and they did inspire me to pray more, that’s for sure.😍

Yes, Frank Peretti is great! Although it’s been years since I read any of his books.

I read Monster last year and I LOVED it. The pacing was crazy-good and the writing was great 😆 I cried tears of joy at the end. I want to read The Oath this year.

But yes, I was also pretty scared lol

YES, loved Monster. The character development was amazing. And yes 100% read The Oath. It's one of my favorites
