This story takes place in the city of Norrköping in Sweden. Overall, I enjoyed this book but I wasn't bowled over by it. This is one of those novels with multiple characters, where it is difficult for the reader to remember who is who and how they relate to each other.
I did eventually sort that out but the storyline involving the prosecutor Jana Berzelius and Danilo Peña seemed like an unnecessary sideline to the main plot. Although the prosecutor was the main protagonist in that storyline, she wasn't a major player in the serial killer plot. As a result, these two stories never really intersected in a meaningful way, which is what I had hoped. Also, that whole storyline was odd - I never understood how two trained assassins who hated each other would just peacefully live together.
I did appreciate the pace at which the novel unfolded though. I also managed to identify the killer before the end so there was no big surprise there. 3.5 stars
