holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments Could be campfire cozy or creepy etc. I'm reading Nettle & Bone rn and it's *perfect*... atmospheric and creepy.

Inspiration (I'm a sucker for lists):

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments oh gosh, thanks for reminding me. that was in the top of my queue but I forgot it's fall-ish. I'll prob read it next. nettle & bone is very short

message 5: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 9 comments That was one of the ones I put on my list! Might have it as a palette cleanser since it’s short! I like how said said if you don’t like this or like that then this book is/isn’t for you! I found it really helpful

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments yes same. she does it quickly too, like this book has age gap, this book has trauma, this book is more plot driven etc. saves me a lot of time.

slewfoot

omg so far 5 stars
it's like fantasy salem witch trials. the first third of it was woody horror but not too horror. lots of family drama. i haven't been able to put it down.

Carmen | 9 comments Ooooo that is on my list too to read in October. After I finished ACOSF I’m going to read Spellshop as my palette cleanser and official start my cosy/spooky season and I’m so excited

message 9: by holly (new)

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments nice! yeah I read spellshop pretty fast. it's great to read before going to sleep.

message 12: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 9 comments Omgg that makes me more excited to read Slewfoot! I love a good horror. Probably makes me a bit psycho saying that lol

Andrea. Let me know how the spooky books are that you’re reading.

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments about to start daughter of the forest by marillier. I'm like 80 percent sure it's autumn atmospheric vibes/energy/whatever. pretty excited. if I can't get into it I'll jump into map of the otherlands. encyclopaedia of farires is very winterish fwiw but I heard otherlands is more fall

message 14: by holly (new)

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments I loooooved daughter of the forest. I also read hearts blood (same author) but dof is definitely better. the beginning is a bit slow and there's a tw. but it's a gorgeous book. I'm going to read sorceress comes to call next. Kingfishers books are super easy to plow through and some say this is her best book

holly holly (flowerpixel) | 34 comments I'm almost finished with sorceress comes to call and so far I think it's my least favorite kingfisher. but if you guys try her, she has different writing styles. There's nettle & bone, it's more "goth" than cozy and jokey like swordheart and sorceress.
