LibraryCin | 11504 comments To my surprise (probably because I'm not a fan!), we read way more than I expected for Steampunk in November.

The number of unique titles was 235. That falls somewhere in the middle for our tags this year.

/group/books...

Booknblues | 11676 comments I am surprised. This was the first tag which I have missed in a number of years.

KateNZ | 4061 comments I think the graphic novel series will have boosted the numbers beyond what we’d normally expect for a fairly arcane tag! Several of the Books With Friends teams tried some.

Theresa | 15072 comments And don't forget Lemony Snicket. More than one team had members reading that series.

Yes, you are right about that (and Theresa about Lemony Snicket). That's probably what did it!

Olivermagnus (lynda11282) | 4522 comments I didn't expect to like this tag as much as I did. I still have several more I plan to read in the future. I heavily read graphic novels and enjoyed the various series. My grandson recommended the Fullmetal Alchemist novels. I had never heard of them.

LibraryCin | 11504 comments Maybe I would have done better to find a graphic novel to read. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more?

KateNZ | 4061 comments Maybe Cindy as long as it was one of the funnier ones. Maybe not the uber-violent ones, lol.

I didn’t read any graphic novels. I keep telling myself I should try them more often but rarely get to it. Ah well. There will be other opportunities

At the moment I can’t even think of any funny graphic novels. Cue quavering old lady voice : “In my day, comics were funny. Whatever happened to Archie and Veronica? Most now seem to focus on action and fantasy, and are quite dark.

I really did enjoy the Heartstopper: Volume One books. They are adorable but not too juvenile.

I also liked Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic.

LOL! Ok, that made me laugh.

I like graphic novels and don't usually have an issue with dark or violent.

"Fun Home" is good!

Robin P | 5435 comments Back when we had Fantasy Romance, I wasn't happy about it, but I read 3 books and loved them all. She Who Became the Sun, A Taste of Gold and Iron and Tress of the Emerald Sea. So I hoped Steampunk might be the same.

I read 3 for Steampunk, 2 were ok (A Master of Djinn and The Watchmaker of Filigree Streetand 1 horrible (Monstress, Volume 1: Awakening). So I didn't become a fan of that genre (even though I like fantasy, sci-fi and historical fiction, which are elements of Steampunk.)

Jason Oliver | 2901 comments We had 40 unique members post for Steampunk.

Thanks, Jason!

That's over 5 books/person (on average). And I only read 1! There must have been others who also only read 1, which takes that average higher for the others.

ETA: I guess this is where the graphic novels come into play. Fast to read and lots in a series for one person to read.

Booknblues | 11676 comments So, I totally missed the boat on steampunk, but received this list from Shepherd and thought I would share.
