For anyone who has read and/or listened to The Wandering Inn by Pirateaba, is the audio version superior to just reading it either (for free) at the website or as an ebook? Thoughts one way or the other?
Thanks!

Soo (silverlyn) | 6 comments For me, listening to the 1st audiobook was the reason why I gained interest in the story. Andrea Parsneau does a fantastic job with the huge series. It's not quite how I imagine the characters to be, but it's a good variation that gives the story a different touch than when I read the series online.

I've read up to most of Vol8 online and listened to all of the available audiobooks. The series has become a favorite.

For new readers, I'd say you need to go into the story with the idea that you're reading an ongoing, serial style story. There's one main character, a bunch of core side characters and important figures. Story narrative will go from slice of life to action adventures and relative backstories.

If you find yourself responding to the story with a variety of different emotions, that's a good indicator of reader response to the story being told and you'll end up being hooked by the end of the first audiobook.

There has been a rewrite of Volume 1 to be more approachable for new readers. That's live on the website and the changes were also made to the 1st audiobook.
