Zivan (zkrisher) | 62 comments Vita Nostra by Sergey & Marina Dyachenko:

Magic school for gifted children, soviet style.

The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera:

This is a story about revenge, about revolution, about the power to change the world, about an anti-hero who wants to escape his destiny.

Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky:

I love it when Tchaikovsky gets to play with an alien ecology. Symbiosis vs. hierarchy.

Lindsay | 58 comments The Tusks of Extinction by Ray Nayler

It's either a long novella or a short novel. It features de-extincted mammoths and an uploaded consciousness.

The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden

World War I as Armageddon with a story following siblings during two different time frames during the war.

Echo of Worlds by M.R. Carey (sequel to Infinity Gate)

I loved the first one and this one absolutely nailed the landing of this story of multiversal war.
