Our member Michelle is planning to read books by Astrid Lindgren and is looking for fellow readers to join her in a Buddy Read.
Everyone is welcome to join her in reading the books of this fun and prolific author.

The first book will be The Brothers Lionheart followed by Pippi Longstocking later in the year.

Happy reading everyone!

Thank you Rosemarie for setting this up for us.
I think it will be a fun read for us!

Annette | 227 comments I would like to read The Brothers Lionheart even though it's not on my 2025 plan. I am trying to read more of what I want this year! I might even be up for a reread of Pippi Longstocking after :) I love that book.

Annette | 227 comments I had to mail order The Brothers Lionheart - I don't own it & there are no copies in my library system.

Manybooks | 610 comments Definitely will join in, although I am going to be reading in German as I find Astrid Lindgren in German better than in English.

Michelle K | 131 comments Thank you so much for starting the thread Rosemarie!

I'm really happy to see there is interest in joining in the buddy read!

I just started The Brothers Lionheart yesterday.

As mentioned above, I was also planning on reading Pippi Longstocking this year.

I have access to a few others through my library/Everand that I would like to add on during the year as I find time as well:

The Children of Noisy Village

Ronia, the Robber's Daughter

If there are other works that anyone recommends, I can look into ordering them.

I got one book in the mail yesterday. Did not have time to open it. But thinking from the size of it, it is the Pippi book!!

I can't wait to get to that book as well!

Lumi | 23 comments I love Ronja, one of my absolutely favorites!

Inese Okonova | 88 comments As life-long Lindgren's fan I can recommend my favourites: Seacrow Island, Mio, min Mio, Emil i Lönneberga and, of course, Karlsson on the Roof. But I am quite sure any of her books can bring joy to the reader. The Brothers Lionheart is also exceptional.

I'm looking forward to this one as well. It looks like there are a few tv adaptations too.

Mio My Son seems to be out of print in English. I've been looking for it, but it's a bit pricey to find. And sadly not available through my library system.

Michelle K | 131 comments I'm going to get to Pippi Longstocking this month. I have not previously read any of the books in the series, but I did watch the 1988 movie The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, a lot as a kid.
