I am reading Letter by Kurt Vonnegut for letters.

Best: Mornings on Horseback: The Story of an Extraordinary Family, a Vanished Way of Life, and the Unique Child Who Became Theodore Roosevelt, by David McCullough - it was interesting hearing about the family life of this man. The book ends before he became president. It is about his family and his relationships within the family, plus politics and adventure up until he was about 27-30 years of age.
Worst: The Talented Mr. Ripley, by Patricia Highsmith - this is hands-down the worst this month. Fiction from the point of view of a sociopath.
Surprise: Mutiny on the Bounty, by Peter Fitzsimons - I was surprised how comprehensive this book was. I've read about nine nautical survival books since last November and this was the longest, telling the story of what happened from different points of view. Of course Captain Bligh's opinions were much different than Fletcher Christian's!

Best: The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. It was refreshing to get to a great 90s fantasy coming of age story.
Worse: Ninja Librarian (Both of them) by Jen Swann Downey. The premise is so cool: time traveling Lybrarians(sic) who work to preserve works and timelines. Yes the title is misleading on the ninja part. The problem is the world building sucked along with the Middle Grade Fallacy (only kids can save the world).
Surprise: Sensible Shoes by Sharon Garlough Brown. 4 women join a spiritual revival group and slowly work through things from their past to get closer to God. I enjoyed this despite there were a lot more for women.
Reading Babylonia for my 400+ book. I haven’t gathered much else yet.
How about y’all?
