Romance Readers Reading Challenges discussion
Pass The Parcel (Team Challenge)

PtP R24 - Til the Last Page Do We Part (2)

2. Wedding Planner (Captain) - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 16 April
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Calls thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.
For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS
For the completion post you must have:

Rating (1-5)
Review
Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.
IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this information in a NEW post, particularly when the request is more than a day old. Its difficult to find older posts when going backwards in the threads.

I'm Lisa, an American from CT living in London, England.
I work for a UK company called Marks and Spencer in their Head Office buying bed linen. I have just celebrated my 40th anniversary with the company.
I am not into sports with the exception of the NY Yankees. Last April I went to my first game at the stadium. I've never been in town when they were in a home stand or in season. so exciting.
My only real hobby is reading. I am trying to keep my reading to new releases where possible. I have only been reading MM since April 2013.
This is the only team challenge I do because I am busy in another group looking after the team challenges there.
When you get a minute let us know a little about yourself and if you have any name suggestions for the team.

I'm not particularly creative, so group name suggestions are unlikely to come from me.

I hadn't realised you haven't played before S! LOL - we are in waaay too many challenges together!

My go-to genres are romance, fantasy, and thrillers, though I read a bit of everything except memoirs. Currently I'm in a bit of book slump, so hopefully this challenge will help me get back in the groove. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading :)
I'm not creative with names but will try to think of something. (It'll probably be related to a boyband song lol.)

I'm Raluca from Romania. My avatar says I'm a "Cat lover" and that's is making me reading any book with cats or cats on cover (I've just discovered the cozy mystery books it with cats)... Back to the subject....I like to read romantic books, of any kind, but to have a happy ending... The ones with a tragic ending take all my reading mood for days... I have participated in this group challenge before. In general, I have a hard time deciding which book to read (because there are too many waiting to be read) and such a challenge is what I need.

I like:

And I would add in the ton of wedding+reading
Until the last page tears us apart

It's lovely to see some familiar names here as well as meeting some new people. I've never played this before, but I'm looking forward to it. I love games that help me pick out what to read.
Sorry I am a day or so behind. I was away for the weekend at a convention for the Supernatural TV show. It was so amazing. I had a great time. My daughter (12) was in heaven. Such a fun girls weekend.
I am good with those names. Very fun.

That's a cute one, Raluca. Maybe if it's shortened to Til the Last Page Do We Part.

Til the Last Page Do We Part.
If no objections ill let Jane know on Weds

I'll be away in next 4 days, and I'll have less time to be active. I have some books ready waiting for the chosen task but surly like in other times I'll end up reading a different book from the chosen ones.

Review: Good gravy. These two were the epitome of enemies to lovers. Well, to be fair, it was Farron who was an absolute jerk. Tore was such a sweetheart trying to find a place where he could be himself, and Farron did not make it easy on him at all. There was so much animosity until it all of a sudden flipped into attraction for them. I liked the concept of the Prince Pact, and I am really curious about the rest of Tore's friends and how they fared.

A quick read. Eric an ex con is working at The Chalet. A B&B type of place. At christmas there is alot of guests including Max with whom Eric had a fling the previous year.
Not really much of a story but it was a nice way to spend an hour or so.

Review: I had really high hopes for this at first. The setup, the heartfelt letters between the hero and heroine - 5 stars. Then the hero returned home from war and that's where things went downhill. While I can sympathize with Christopher's struggle with PTSD and fitting back into society, those issues aside, he was very rude and needlessly cruel to Beatrix. I kept waiting for that gut-punch moment when he realized who she was but nothing happened. One second he was so angry with her deception, and then he said he loved her all along? Huh???? Beatrix, too, folded like a lawn chair and it was all fine and dandy, but honestly I felted cheated. The resolution to the main conflict was underwhelming and sadly it was the same for all the subplots/conflicts. I loved the writing though, which makes it even more disappointing that it could have been so good.

Review: I've had some books of this series on my TBR shelf for a while but never got round to reading any of them which was a big mistake. It took a little while to get into #1, as the layout felt a bit weird. However, by the end, I was thoroughly enjoying the slightly over-the-top superhero series vibe. This is one series I'll definitely be diving into again.

Review: #2 of the Hidden Magic series but it can easily be read as a standalone. It was a fairly straightforward story but with an unexpected twist at the end, just to keep things interesting. No great depth to the plot or the characters but enjoyable nonetheless.

Review: For not being a fan of historical fantasy, I sure am enjoying this series. I tend to take time between reading them, but I have to say today I was wondering what took me so long to finally get to this one. I really liked it. I had some definitely sad/horrible moments, but it also had some lovely moments between Griffin and Ival. The story is so interesting, and the big surprise element in this story was super cool. I can't wait to see how that all plays out.

Review: This was a very cute, cozy read with plenty of fun elements like found family, a sweet semi slow-burn between a grump and a sunshine, lovable supporting characters, etc. With such a recipe, I was guaranteed to love it, and I did! There were heavier topics (such as childhood neglect, trauma, and loss of cultural/personal identity) which I thought were shallowly explored and could have used more depth, but eh, I'm just nitpicking at this point.

A fluffy story which could have been longer.
Casper has a compass which he believes will lead him to his fated mate. He sets off with 2 of his cousins and finds Ray, a witch who doesn't really know that she has magic. He also finds Zeke who turns out to be his fated mate.
Ive never read a story where the MC has a familiar and a different fated mate. This relationship wasn't really explored as the book was really short.
