Rob O'Keefe | 5 comments After engaging "Haley" and "Mary" in the Authors Seeking Free Beta Readers group, it has become apparent to me that these so-called readers (they might actually be the same person) are using AI to generate initial feedback and then asking for a review on Fiverr which requires you to make a purchase. Be careful.

Rob O'Keefe | 5 comments No, that's not the question at all.

AM Storm | 32 comments Thanks, Rob! Is it legal to upload someone's else's manuscript to an A.I. site/program?

I’m sorry, but I see no connection between the two accusations whatsoever.

Haley tried to make me pay on Fiverr after offering her services for free. That accusation can be substantiated.

I definitely see a connection because after reading my first chapter,

'Mary' requested a review on Fiverr (requires purchase) and it was evident that her feedback used A.I.

For example, at the end of the PDF, "she" said "Let me know if you'd like me to focus on any specific aspect more!" which reminds me deeply of ChatGPT. It's very unfortunate.

Honey Grace | 12 comments Hi! I'm curious what their emails are to avoid getting the wrong people. Haley and Mary are common names 🤣

message 10: by Elisha (new)

Elisha | 9 comments [email protected] and [email protected] have both sent me comments to read my book. Mary has twice, even after I already emailed her with my book. To which she never replied. I would imagine it is them. One replied referring to my name with the beginnig of my email address, which is not the name I signed with or a name in general, so I assume it was more automated and had me questioning things.

Ah, okay. Thanks! I figured it was those two since they seem to be on every beta reading post

if a person does not consent to have their manuscript uploaded to an AI thingy, I don't think it is :(
