Mina Chrys | 18 comments can I join? not being from the US, Inwas not familiar with it as a child, but muy nieces and nephews love horror stories almost as much as me.

sure thing Mina :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 943 comments I re-read this last year, it's fun stuff. I was lucky enough to find another copy with the original illustrations, which adds a lot to the stories and charm of the book. Without them it's not as good IMO. Hope you all enjoy.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11921 comments Mod
Thanks. The copy I have has the illustrations in it. This will be my first revisit since childhood.

Michelle Barclay (shellcastle) | 21 comments Hope you don't mind a newbie butting in here. I'm going to see if my sister has a copy for her kids that I can borrow for this. Loved these.

Michelle Barclay (shellcastle) | 21 comments I'm about to start reading them tonight. My British hubby has never heard of them, so I'll be reading out loud for his benefit. :)

I did! My nephew let me borrow them. (So cute swapping books with a 10-year-old.)

That's great Michelle! My niece is 9 & I keep trying to get her to read Harry potter or wizard of oz but she just ain't having it :(

message 20: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Barclay (shellcastle) | 21 comments Oh, no! I traded him for the fourth potter book. Maybe her school will assign it. His teacher assigned the first and he couldn't stop after that.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11921 comments Mod
Lol! I hope so.

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) Percy Jackson is another to try. My son adores them and he's 9 going on 10.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11921 comments Mod

Michelle Barclay (shellcastle) | 21 comments 39 Clues too!

Latasha (latasha513) | 11921 comments Mod
I haven't heard of that one.

message 26: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Barclay (shellcastle) | 21 comments I read it after a few kids in my life showed interest. It's a fun series about a brother and sister who are part of this mysterious and eclectic family that goes on a mad worldwide hunt (pitted against each other) to find a mysterious prize that their grandmother (or aunt or something) sent them to find in her will. It's a bit Da Vinci Code for kids.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11921 comments Mod
Ok. I'll have to check those out
