Pip, you made an excellent suggestion. I have deleted the entire thread. No animosity allowed. I'm going to repeat that. NO ANIMOSITY ALLOWED. Civility must reign

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm actually sick in bed so my brain is not at 100 percent.

Everyman | 3574 comments Sorry to hear you're sick. Get well soon, and drink lots of fluids (good for whatever ails you.)

Thanks Everyman. I've been pushing fluids. A case of too much stress, not enough sleep, and air travel. Toughest part is my head is so congested I can't read. A fate worse than death :)

No apologies needed Pip. A fresh start seemed like a good idea to me. It was my decision. ;)

We have gone from many inches of snow to sunny patio weather in about 3 weeks here in Ottawa-we are all blinking in the bright sun like moles after a long winter. Deborah-I hope you're also having good weather so can at least sit by an open window-that always helps me feel better when I'm laid up.

message 13: by Renee (new)

Renee M | 803 comments I know it's my soapbox, but when I'm too sick to read I find that I'm even more grateful for audiobooks. You could get the Librivox Northanger Abbey and listen while you mend. The reader is Elizabeth Klett and she's quite wonderful.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm actually tucked into bed, and haven't been out of my nightwear today. Sleeping when I can. So I'm drifting in and out a lot.

Linda2 | 3748 comments I just saw the 6th and last episode of Wolf Hall, and I was surprised it ended with Boleyn's death. I thought it would have ended with Cromwell's death, since it's his story. Are they making a Part II?

Hilary Mantel is (I believe) currently still writing the third book of the trilogy, so presumably that will end with Cromwell's death. The TV series covered the first two books (Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies) and I imagine that they will make the third book into a new series when it comes out. I can't wait :)

Everyman | 3574 comments Last night we saw the first (for us) newborn fawn of the season, staggering around trying to figure out its legs while its mother browsed about three feet from our front porch. They are cuteness defined!

We have three other seemingly pregnant mothers who visit us regularly, so we're hoping for more fawns as the month progresses.

No more spoilers! I have it on DVR and haven't watched it yet.

As for your question, I've read that it is up in the air whether or not to have a Season 2.

When it aired in Britain, people complained that it was too slow, and ratings went down after the second show.

Such a shame...what a beautiful series, and Mark Rylance is magnificent in the role.

You didn't know that Boleyn lost her head over Henry? Or that Cromwell died at the end of his life? ;-)

First Hilary has to finish her book, so don't hold your breath. And sometimes films are released directly to DVD if they would lose money in the usual venues.
