Ellen (barbanellie) | 12 comments I made me challenge list just as the new year started, but I just found this group, so I'm joining and sharing my list. I tried this challenge last year, but failed by half a book... Hopefully I'll do better this year!

1. The Mousetrap and Other Plays, by Agatha Christie finished Jan. 23
2. Eragon, by Christopher Paolini
3. Death In Holy Orders by P.D. James
4. Dragon Wing, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
5. La grosse femme d'à côté est enceinte (The Fat Woman Next Door is Pregnant), by Michel Tremblay (Classic Quebec literature)
6. The Nanny Diaries, by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
7. Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, by Gregory Maguire
8. The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follet
9. Mistress of the Art of Death, by Ariana Franklin
10. The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger
11. Wish You Were Here, by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown
12. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou

Comments about my choices are very much welcome!

The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favourite books! I really enjoyed The Pillars of the Earth as well.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister - I've been wanting to read both that and Wicked.

I've read The Nanny Diaries and though I enjoyed it, I found it a bit too similar to The Devil Wears Prada with the mean, unreasonable boss.

Ellen (barbanellie) | 12 comments Thanks for the comments. I read Wicked and its two sequels (Son of a Witch: A Novel and A Lion Among Men) and really liked them, so I'm looking forward to reading something else by Maguire.

As for Nanny Diaries, I got it really cheap second hand, and thought it would be a lighter easier book to help me make it to the end of my challenge list! ;-) I haven't read the Devil Wears Prada, only saw the movie...

Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister was wonderful! It wasn't as good as Wicked, but it's a quality novel in its own right. I'll look forward to hearing your opinion of it.
