Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Nora had just about the most normal, boring life you could think of. She went to school, got good grades, worked one the school paper, and hung out at the library a lot after school. She had a best friend named Vee whom was almost the exact opposite of her, and also an enemy thats favourite past time was making fun of Nora and Vee. She would go home to her farm house where she was alone a lot other than her families house keeper because her mothers job entitled much traveling, which gave her a lot of freedom that she rarely took advantage of. Normal, boring, repetitive. That is untill Patch entered into her life.
Patch, the one student in her biology class that she didn't even know the name of. He was the transfer student with the chilling black eyes that seemed to see right into your soul. There was just something that wasn't right about him, and it unerved Nora. He scared her, but for reasons unknown to her she felt a certain draw or atraction to him, and with her lack of experience in the guy department she had no idea what any of it ment. Not to mention that Patch was mysterious and definietly hiding something, whether it was dangerous or not she couldn't figure him out at all. But the one thong she was positive of was that there was some kind of attraction between them than and she didn't know what it ment, and this scared her at the same time that intriged her. However unsure she was about this unexpected attraction she was sure that it ment that things in her normal boring life were about to change. For the better or for the worse? She would have to wait and find out.
I think that this book might be one of the best young adult, paranormal books that I have read yet. It had be hooked right from the first page, it took absolutly no effort to get into the story. It has a great plot filled with twists and turns that will have you glued to the edge of you seet right to the very last page. One of the best aspects of this book along with its plot is its characters. You will be captivated by their unique, strong, and complex personalities, the ability to relate to some of what they go throught pulls you even further into the story. Plus the unexplained and mysterious attraction building between Nora and Patch is a great treat for the romance fans. When you get to the last page you will be wishing you could have read it slower so that it wouldn't be over already, and will have you bagging for the sequel. I recemmend this book to all who are into the paranormal young adult books, this one will certanly not disapoint.

Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward
Date Started: February 2, 2010
Date Finished: February 6, 2010

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Rhage was definitely a ladies man. He had been with more woman than you could count, but they were nothing to him, just a distraction. He was a great warrior, strong fighter, and an asset to the Brotherhood. However he had a dark side, very dark. In him he hides a beast, which is both blood thirsty and unbelievably powerful. This was a curse that was given to him by the Scribe Virgin, one that he could not control and feared. Not only did he fear for himself, but for any one that was around when that monster came out, especially his brothers.
Mary was a very strong person, she had been through things that would have killed many others. She watched her mother die from her bedside, and had survived a round of cancer. Her greatest fear was that the cancer would come back, because she knew that if it did she wasn’t likely to pull through this time.
Mary and Rhage are from two totally different worlds, but that is going to change. When Mary befriends a young man that is not even aware of what he is, she finds herself sucked into Rhages world of vampires without even knowing what is happening. Or that she will never come back out from it, at least not unaltered.
In the second book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Ward has created another great romance. Rhages struggle within himself for control so that he is not a threat to the ones he cares for will have your heart acing for him, and you can’t help but fall for him. Also Mary’s strong will, proves to be a great match for Rhages over confident nature. I can’t wait to read the next installment in the Brotherhood series, I’m sure that it will be just as great as the first two.

Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward

Zsadist is by far the scariest of all the brothers, he has eyes deep black, soulless eyes and a scar that stretches the length of his face. Add this to the ready to kill look that is always the expression you see on his face and it would be completely reasonable for everyone to fear him and give him his space. But can you blame him? He was not always like this, but driven to become this way from his horrible past experiences. Zsadist was a former blood slave, held against his will by a Mistress that did far more than just take blood from him, and he has the scars to prove it. His past has forged who he is now, broken beyond repair, not damaged.
Bella is a strong female from a powerful aristocratic family that has enjoyed living one her own just out side of town in a farm house. This is until her neighbour and friend got tangled up with the Black Dagger Brotherhood and by association so did she. Right from the first time she laid eyes on Zsadist she was completely captivated by him. She couldn’t get him off her mind even after he made it perfectly clear that he wanted nothing to do with her. And than it happened, she was captured by the Lessening Society and held captive. And now Zsadist is set on finding her and seeking revenge against the killers that have taken her. All he can do is pray that she is still alive to be saved.
Another amazing novel by Ward. This one absolutely had it all from intense fighting to heart breaking discoveries. Zsadist story is by far the most moving and saddest one yet and I think that it may be my favourite one out of the first three. If you haven’t read this one yet I strongly suggest that you do, I promise that you will not be disappointed at all. I recommend this book to anyone who has read the first two novels in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I am very excited to continue on in this series and to learn more about all of the brothers and their lovers.

Captivate by Carrie Jones

The fear of pixies is Well if there was a name for it like the fear of spiders, arachnophobia then Zara would have it. They are manipulative, cunning and completely and utterly evil. Zara learnt this first hand when she moved from Charleston where she lived with her mother, to Maine to live with her grandma after her father (stepfather) passed away. Even though she was only in Maine for a very short time, her life got twisted up in the world of the pixies that she hadn’t even known existed. In this time she had been staked, attacked and abducted by the pixies, and on top of all of this she discovered that her father, her biological father, was not only a pixies, but the pixies King. However Zara was lucky and with the help of her new friends, Nick (a werewolf and the boy she is involved with), and some other weres including her grandma she was able to escape from the pixies. Further more they were all able to trap the pixies in their mansion.
Problem solved right? Well, that’s what they thought, but isn’t exactly the case. Now they have a new problem, there are more pixies out there and they are for some unknown reason coming into Maine. This means that they have to capture and trap these new pixies in with all the others. With all these new pixies there have come rumors of other kings and battles. So where does that leave Zara and her friends? Will they be able to solve all of their problems and get rid of these new pixies? Or is there just more to it than they know?
In this second installment of the Need series all of these questions are addressed along with many others. If like Zara and her friends you thought that the pixie problem was solved you are in for a bit of a surprise. Through out this book you get to know the characters more and you may also meet some new and interesting characters along the way. There were some twist and turns in the plot just like in the first novel from the series. Although. I feel that this book was a little slower in spots and that the plot could have been a bit better developed and thought through, but was still a very enjoyable book. There are some parts of the book however that I thought were maybe better than the first and had my interest right away and unlike the first this one does not have quite as clean of an ending. The author ends her second novel on a bit of a cliffhanger and has me looking forward to the next book to get the answers that I’m looking for, and I think that this was a good choice -not matter how much I may dislike cliffhangers- for her to do this to keep the readers eager to read on. Over all I think that this was a very good book and definitely recommend it to all those of you have read Need and enjoyed it.

Great Group of Books you have Read!
I really liked Beautiful Creatures and Hush Hush. I can't wait to start The Last Song.

I picked up The Notebook to read while I wait for The Last Song. It is nice simple writing but I think I like the movie better. Which is rare.
