I've noticed a lot of us Book Buying Addicts tend to buy quite a bit of the same genres and themes so I thought it might be a good idea to create a folder where we can just list our suggestions of if you like this you might want to check out that sort of things. Feel free to CREATE YOUR OWN THREADS in this folder. DON'T add suggestions under this topic heading, make new ones instead, ok?

Just a thought, maybe we should try narrower lists. Those other three are pretty broad topics. Go ahead and create narrower threads for them if you can think of some. Like maybe Fantasies With Elves instead of just Fantasy.

I guess I wasn't too clear when I start this. My goal was to create a folder for new threads to be started, lists of different genres. Please don't add suggestions here, make new topics instead.

Yep, that would be just fine CD. Go ahead and create a new topic with that as the subject under this folder.

Good, I was hoping that would help make clearer what I was trying to get going here. :-)

Tell me a little about Pendragon Series. It looks interesting, but is it full of action? Why do you recommend?

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 48 comments I just published a children's book, Royal Prince Vince, and it is available on the nook and Kindle. Physical copies will be available in a couple of weeks. Also, just finished reading some older books that I got from a friend, definitely worth checking out if you like sci-fi:

Trapped
Jumping Off the Planet
Shadowrun #2: Poison Agendas A Shadowrun Novel (It is part of a series, but I only got this book. Now I might have to buy the others. Darn!!)

I want to read Hunger Games and I am Number Four, but there has been so much hype with no discussion of content. Any thoughts?

Though I've heard of and know the general stories of many of these books I've only read 3. That is sad.

Haha, don't feel too bad, I've got a mere 27 of 100 books under my belt which sadly puts my global rank at # 590 of 4,608 users (top 13%).

I am at 8, but I don't know that I feel that bad. I have read other books that have touched my soul!

message 25: by Aleka (new)

Aleka Mor | 4 comments Hi,

I have tried to curb my book buying by taking out library books instead, but doesn't seem to work for me. I have even tried buying second hand books...again not working.

I always end up going in and buying a stack of books. I am completely out of control. I used to have a friend who would stop me from going into bookshops, at the moment that is not the case.

People just laugh if I tell them, but it's a real addiction. Albeit superficially harmless.

message 26: by Sandy (new)

Sandy Neal | 16 comments Not harmless for me! I am posting all my books on paperbackswap and switching to Kindle and library ebooks due to dust issue. My asthma cannot take it. I live holding a book but it s not worth the suffering.
