Her name is "Miss Lucy" after Lucille Ball. She's 4 years old. She's my darling!

Thanks for the heads up Melodie!

Unless you're talking about my mother-in-law! Even my husband didn't count her!

Unless you're talking about my mother-in-law! Even my husband didn't count her!"
hehe I know what you mean! Same deal with mine!

This was a very good read for me. I was glad to see a mother that seems really real. I loved the main character Dyce for her flaws including her mistakes in her parenting. Something I can relate to. I also love the best friend Ben. He reminds me of one of my best friends whom I miss dearly. Good tips at the end of this book for furniture refinishing.
Well, I put the books I've chosen at this moment:
* For May Flowers:
* For Horses:
* For Mother's day:
Perhaps another one, but I'm not sure.

Finished Mum's the Word last night and am looking forward to reading more books in this series before end of the month. I also read Second Wind last week for my horse book. This was my first Dick Francis and I will definitely be reading more by him.

~For Mothers as dectives: Magnolia, Moonlight, and
Murder by Sara Rosett
~ For Flowers: Mum's The Word by Kate Collins
~For Horses: Death On The Diagonal by Carolyn Banks
First time I have read any of these authors. I really enjoyed Kate Collins and Carolyn Banks and will read more from them. I enjoyed the book by Sara Rosett but just not enough to keep them up.

Has been a long time since I picked up a Dick Francis book. I enjoyed every one I read.

- For horses: "Lead A Horse to Murder" by Cynthia Baxter.
- For Mother's Day: "Mother's Day Murder" by Leslie Meier.
- For May flowers: "Wiped Out" by Barbara Colley.
Happy Reading Everyone!
I've finished Dipped, Stripped, and Dead for Mother's Day and I haven't liked it a lot, I think I'll not continue with the series.

THE SADDLEMAKER'S WIFE is a really good read. I read 4 years ago when it came out. I like about anything that Earlene Fowler writes.
I've finished Pretty Poison and I've liked it very much. I've ordered the next one through Amazon (sadly, no e-book).

I have

At least start with the first one as that sets up the main relationship in the series. I'm not a real anal read-in-order type, but I did read this series that way and it probably made it more enjoyable.

I have

I am anal about reading series in order and I think you will get much more out of Earlene's books if read that way. The relationships grow throughout the series and I think you need to read more than just the first one to get that. All of the books in this series are excellent.

Katherine Hall Page's Faith Fairchild series is about a minister's wife/caterer who is a mother. This is a good series.
Although I haven't read the series by
Ann Ripley (re: Louise Eldridge) I have written down that gardening is part of it and the titles in general deal with plants/gardening (see: Death of a Garden Pest, The Garden Tour Affair: A Gardening Mystery, Death in the Orchid Garden)
Again, I have not read this series but it sounds good, the Susan Henshaw mysteries by Valerie Wolzien (she is a mother)
I had to turn to one of my favorite sites () to find more for you (and there are many more than I am going to list--go to the website and click on Cozies by Themes):
for horses try:
Carolyn Banks's She Rides, He Doesn't Mystery Series
Laura Crum's Gail McCarthy mystery series with a equine Vet
For flowers:
Joan Hadley's Theo Bloomer mystery series (florist)
Julie Wray Herman's Three Dirty Women Landscaping, Inc mysteries (this sounds good, must add to my list!)
Vicki Lane's Elizabeth Goodweather mystery series (owns a flower/herb farm) (love the character's last name)
Anthony Eglin's English Garden Mysteries (professor of botany)
Mary Freeman's Rachel O'Connor, Landscaper series

I have

Kari - I try to read mystery series in order BUT the Earlene Fowler you suggested as a horse read is a non-series book. Her Benni Harper mysteries are in my tbr pile. I'm starting with The Saddlemaker's Wife as my horse read for May.
Thanks for the idea.

[bookcover:Pushing Up Daisies: A Dirt-y Business Mys..."
Sure will - I'm hoping to start it tonight.

I am trying to reach my goal to read all three of the May theme books by the end of the month, but I don't think I'll make it. I've read "Wiped Out" by Barbara Colley and I am currently reading "Lead A Horse to Murder" by Cynthia Baxter. I got a last start and I've been extra busy with work, gardening, family, etc. So, I still have 1 1/2 books to go ..... I'm trying though.
Happy Reading Everyone!
Well, I've finished Death by Dressage. Too much horses for me, I haven't liked it a lot, I think I'm done with the series.

If nothing else, I finished the yellow ray in my Spring Challenge rainbow. :)

Also finished reading another May-theme related book, namely
