Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Feedback -->> Help test the new My Books

Anyway, despite all my wandering, there are some things I still can't figure out so I've got a ?. Maybe it's already posted somewhere else on some other topic and if it is please pre-accept my apology for asking and just point me in the right direction and i will bother no more. If it is not listed elsewhere then I will be very, very grateful for the help.
Here goes: When making lists of books in the challenges you decide to join, how on earth do you make the line go thru the title after you've read it to mark it off? If that is to much to explain, then how do you put the pics of the books on the list? I'm not computer illiterate but I'm not by any means a computer whiz. I just thought it would be cool to be able to show the books pics or to be able to strike thru the title of a book when marking them off on my challenges.
Thanks again for any help and BTW, this group is FABULOUS! :)

Ok, first up above the comment box it says add book/author - click on that and it brings up a box for you to type in the name of the book you want, it then gives you the option of link or cover, clicking cover will give you the picture of the book.
Also above the comment box is (some html is ok). Click on that and it gives a list of things you can do, like underlining, striking through and linking one part of the site to another.
You need to use <* s*> and before and after whatever you want the line to go through, and obviously you don't use the stars (I've used them so they'll show up and not just strike out 'and').
Hope this helps, if not just post back. And thanks for the kind words.

For pics, click "add book/author" above the comment box, search for your book and select "cover" at the bottom before you "add" the book you want from the search results.
Hope that helps! :)

Now, on the flip side, YAY! and Thank you! to GR staff, librarians and all others who have added the series link to all/most books! LOVE it!

If you find any problems with a series or a book that should be in a series, please report it in the Librarians group.
Series are great, but there is still a lot of clean-up work to be done.

You can now compare shelves with other members, not just a random selection of books decided by the computer.

You can compare shelves named the same OR
Shelves named differently such as vampire / vampires
or any combo such as paranormal / pnr - uf etc
Very cool!

Another interesting bit of info about this, is that it was suggested by one person in the Feedback group on Sept 29th and implemented on Oct 12th. So if you have any ideas for the site, definitely post them there.

characters: Marc Ramos, Faythe Sanders
setting: Texas (United States)
Copy cats! Nah, J/K! That's awesome! And, extremely helpful because not only is the info there, but they have linked that info to lists. So, click on "Texas" and you get a list of "books set in Texas".
Which brings me to my next tasty treat ... There's now a link for "places", yep! books set in different places! GREAT resource for challenges!
GoodReads' "PLACES" List
(IMO, that list would 1,000x better if we could search ... wish list idea!)
The same can be done with the character list. :)

Didn't realise it had been done. Yay!
(re the detail on books re characters & settings - they are only there if a Librarian has put them there, and that's been happening for a long time, but you couldn't search them till now)

Click on "Shelf Settings" and look at all the choices we'll now have.

I meant to come by & let everyone know, sorry, got sidetracked reading. Who would've thought that. LOL.
Seriously, you'll be able to do lots of cool stuff with your shelves. Play around and have a go!!

In addition to all that, you can also see what goal your friends have set and see their status ticker, make comments, etc.
** They are currently working on fixing a bug - books read on the first of the month do not show up

Go to your home page and click on See the Winners, just under your profile info, on the right hand side - you can see all the runners up also and how many votes each book received.
You may find more books to add to your tbr stash!

No, not lazy. Don't want that little ticker to become a blinking billboard everytime you jump on GR screaming "Look how little you've read! Get offline and get'ta reading!" LOL! :D

Thanks, Sandra. Off to check. I forgot to vote for more before it ended. I think I only voted for one book in one category. Oh well.

But sure you need to have a life, otherwise how could you afford all the books. LOL.

The what and why of it they say ...
