On the first day of the month, I finished my first reading experience with L.E. Modesitt Jr., that being [book:The..."
Cornwell's Sharpe series is a great favorite in this house. Don and I both enjoy it. He's a Stephen King enthusiast, also.

It's a great book, and I've heard it's an amazing series.
It may sound VERY cheesy, but it's really good.

Song of the Beast is truly excellent.

Is it knock-out-excellent? The kind of book that you can't put away? (I don't care about sleep deprivation...)

Nothing special, although an improvement on Twilight series.
After 5 extremely light books, I have decided to read some classics.

It is an odd book.
I have to read it slowly, so I don't miss anything.
At the moment it feels like a mixture of A Night in the Lonesome October, Book of the New Sun (1&2) and Lord of Light.
It is illogical. You cannot believe the narrators. They either lie or speak in riddles.
We will see...

Queen by Meg Cabot's - One of my favs
Rainbows Shadow and the Tablets of Fate by John Cicero and quite enjoying it.

It took me some time before I noticed that, myself. :)

Have a look at the top of the box where you are typing.
There is: add book/author
Click on it. you can find a book or author and decide whether to give a name of the book Clovermead: In the Shadow of the Bear
or its cover

:)

Currently reading The Affinity Bridge and a couple of non-fiction.

Mistborn is one of the most knock out excellent series I've ever read, with probably the best female protagonist since Snowcrash.
If you're looking for another, check out Joe Abercrombie's First Law Series. I envy anyone who hasn't discovered them yet, I wish I could read them again for the first time.

Jason, got mine in the same place. The first one (the omnibus edition) they sent me had some pages missing in the center... They replaced it right away, was just an odd happenstance.

Don't apologize for reading Star Wars, as my high school physics teacher told me, it's good mind candy! :-)
As for the month of August, I'm 2/3 through Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy right now. I also tackled Eat, Pray, Love for book club and am technically in the middle of Anathem and Machiavelli's The Art of War.

Other books I finished this week included The Emerald storm (my review) and Power Surge (my review).
I'm waiting for my signed copy of The Way of Kings to arrive; so in the meantime I'm reading through my borrowed shelf to return books to friends who loaned them to me months ago.

The Way of Shadows is a great book! What are your thoughts?

I guess I can check it off my imaginary "you-can't-love-fantasy-until-you've-read-this" list.

Later this week, I'll post some of my August reads in my . I'll be clearing out some of that inventory to donate to my local library's fall book sale.

Meanwhile I read the second Foreigner trilogy by C.J.Cherryh -- excellent! Last night finished The Lions of al-Rassan and am emotionally drained.
Haven't decided what to read next.

On the first day of the month, I finished my first reading experience with L.E. Modesitt Jr., that being The Magic of Recluce. My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Now I'm just about to finish "The Library Policeman", which is the third novella in Stephen King's Four Past Midnight. It's a re-read, but it's very fresh as it's been a long time.
I also just started The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell, the first in his series about Arthur. I've heard great things about Cornwell.
