message 52: by Liz (new)

Liz Exterior (sorry if any of these have already been mentioned)
A Countess Below Stairs (I assume stairs works?)
No Roof but Heaven
The Looking Glass Wars
Storm Glass
The Goblin Wood

message 53: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments absolutely Christine. Lock would work.

message 54: by Kate (new)

Kate (klc23) | 161 comments Is library or nursery ok for the second part? I'm thinking of using The Ladies' Lending Library or Ghosts from the Nursery: Tracing the Roots of Violence

message 55: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Great choices Kate. I think those are perfect fits.

message 56: by Deedee (new)

Deedee | 2323 comments Hi! You've approved "door" - how about "doors"? (since most houses have more than one door!)
Specifically: A Million Open Doors Thanks!

message 57: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments That is fine Deedee. Enjoy

Great, thanks!

message 59: by Tami (new)

Tami | 296 comments for interior rooms, what about Study, Laundry and closet? there are several books with these words in the title that would work if acceptable.

message 60: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Tami, I will accept all of those rooms. Hope that helps.

message 61: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) | 240 comments Would "Pillar/s" work for Part A of the task?

message 62: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Sure Pillars is great. The house I grew up in had pillars on the front porch. Thanks for the memory Vicky.

message 63: by Cindy AL (new)

Cindy AL (cangelmd) | 645 comments I thought you had already ruled on this, I apologize if you have, the word "door" in a subtitle? - The Bizarre Truth: How I Walked out the Door Mouth First . . . and Came Back Shaking My Head

subtitles OK, not OK?

message 64: by Sheila (last edited Aug 27, 2010 08:55AM) (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Cindy, I'll accept Door for part A. (exterior). (subtitles are OK) I prefer actual rooms for the interior part.

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments Would doormat work for things on the outside of a house?

message 66: by Cindy AL (new)

Cindy AL (cangelmd) | 645 comments I'm sorry,yes for part A, thanks.

message 67: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Sarah, I am looking for actual parts of the exterior of a house. Doormat would not qualify. Sorry

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments Does stairs or roof work for outside?

message 69: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments you bet Sarah

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments Wow, a book I am actually going to have to look for because none of the ones on my shelf work!

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments I am sorry to keep bugging you but what about porch or stoop?

message 72: by Cait (new)

Cait (caitertot) | 648 comments Sarah (Mood Reader) wrote: "I am sorry to keep bugging you but what about porch or stoop?"

Sarah, I looked on your tbr and Life on the Refrigerator Door would work for exterior (door) & Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen would work for interior (kitchen). I don't know if that helps you or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there. :o)

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments Cait, I was going to use Life on the Refrigerator Door for In The Pink.... maybe one of my other books is pink... I will have to check... thanks :).

message 74: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Hi Sarah - Porch and stoop both work for the exterior part of task.

message 75: by Julie J (new)

Julie J | 115 comments What about "side" for exterior?

message 76: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Hi Julie, I will accept siding but not side. Sorry

message 77: by Julie J (new)

Julie J | 115 comments No problem. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments great house you've got there Helen. Tower would work fine.

message 82: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (goodquietkitty) Sheila wrote: "I don't think passage works Elizabeth. Sorry. I'm looking more for hall or hallway here"

Sheila, may I ask you to reconsider "passage"? I'm currently reading Passage, which is meant to be a play on words for both travel passage and a hallway passage. I completely understand if you say no, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks!

message 83: by Sheila (last edited Sep 12, 2010 11:14AM) (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Sorry Hannah, passage doesn't work for this task. It wouldn't be fair for me to say no to Elizabeth and then turn around and say yes for you. It just doesn't fit, sorry.

Hannah (goodquietkitty) Sheila wrote: "Sorry Hannah, passage doesn't work for this task. It wouldn't be fair for me to say no to Elizabeth and then turn around and say yes for you. It just doesn't fit, sorry."

No problem! I understand. Thanks!

message 85: by Meera (new)

Meera | 127 comments HI Sheila, would The Haunting of Hill House work for the exterior? Because a house could be on a hill.

message 86: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Hi MG, actually I want parts of the house itself, not where the house is located. Sorry.

message 87: by B (new)

B (kristenlovesbooks) Hi Sheila! Would Imperial Bedrooms work for part B? Thank you!

Meera | 127 comments Sheila wrote: "Hi MG, actually I want parts of the house itself, not where the house is located. Sorry."

That's ok. Thanks Sheila. I'll have to figure that one out for another task.

message 91: by Ashley FL (new)

Ashley FL | 721 comments I'm planning to use A Wallflower Christmas but am not sure if "wall" counts as inside or outside or both?!?

message 92: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Hi Ashley, A Wallflower Christmas will be OK for the exterior. There aren't really any rooms on the interior called the wallroom. I hope that helps.

message 93: by Ashley FL (new)

Ashley FL | 721 comments That's super, Sheila -- Thanks for the quick response!!

message 94: by Sandy, Moderator Emeritus (new)

Sandy | 16893 comments Mod
Sheila, the question was raised in the completed task thread as to whether "bed" worked as an inside word in a title. I was thinking that it was the same sort of word as "breakfast" or "dining," in that it worked with "room" - what's your call on this?

message 95: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments I would say no to this and have noted it in post 1 and 2 above because it isn't written as bed room it is bedroom. a little different from dining room which you would not write as diningroom. Do you see the difference?

message 96: by Elizabeth (NC) (new)

Elizabeth (NC) | 184 comments Would crawlspace work for the interior?
Thanks

message 97: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Yes Elizabeth crawlspace would be fine and very inventive.

message 98: by Elizabeth (NC) (new)

Elizabeth (NC) | 184 comments Excellent--especially since I already read the book and then had a moment of hmmm...does it really fit :)

message 99: by Fran (last edited Sep 21, 2010 04:24AM) (new)

Fran | 730 comments Hi Sheila!
Does Dead as a Doornail work for part A? Since a house can have doornails keeping it together?

message 100: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments I approve Dead as a Doornail Fran for part A. Enjoy!
