I couldn't find a discussion where we could just talk about anything so I started one. Yes, I know that we are off-topic enough that I really could have posted anywhere.

I'm going to see Easy A tonight and can't wait! I have wanted to see this movie from the very first trailer I watched.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Have you forgotten about Totally Random already?

I haven't heard of Easy-A, but I want to see that Rapunzel movie, it looks pretty funny.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Totally Random looked like it was random stuff about books only. Hmmm...

I'm excited about Tangled too. I was hoping it would be released while we are at Disneyland but no such luck.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I checked and it looks like it won't be released til November 12. It was a total fluke that I saw the preview in the first place as I don't watch much tv, unless hubby is watching it.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

We're heading to Disneyland next Friday and I was hoping that the movie would be out so Rapunzel would be in the parks. It's always a big deal when they debut a new character.

message 6: by Heidi (new)

Heidi You do realize that the same 5-10 people are the only ones that are going to use this thread!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) No they won't.

You are being obstinate today!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh I'm using it...for what, I have no idea.

Heidi Stacia wrote: "Oh I'm using it...for what, I have no idea."

Ha! We are good about wasting time talking about nothing on here :)

message 11: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yeah, I've gotten much better than when I first joined.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I should have named this "nothing" instead of "anything".

message 13: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ha Shannen. I like that (nothing) :) Hey Peep did you see that Hulu Plus is going to be streaming on the Roku soon? I knew it was a good time to get rid of cable! Hulu just needs to get rid of the commercials for the plus members and I may look into it!

message 14: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I saw that! They were so quite for so long about it. But I won't use it. My hubby might. I still have my Roku shows to catch up on! Netflix keeps adding so much stuff, it's getting crazy (good). I agree that it's much cheaper than cable!

message 15: by Cortney (new)

Cortney | 21 comments I think Easy A looks hilarious! Shannon, let me know what you think! I have also wanted to see Killers and the new Robin Hood with Russell Crowe(I have a HUGE crush)

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Will do, Cortney!

message 17: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Robin Hood was really good. I saw it in the theater. I was surprised; I didn't realize that it tells the story about how he became "Robin Hood".

message 18: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Cortney wrote: "I think Easy A looks hilarious! Shannon, let me know what you think! I have also wanted to see Killers and the new Robin Hood with Russell Crowe(I have a HUGE crush)"

I have a crush on him too and even went to see his band in Chicago 5-10 years ago.

message 19: by Cortney (new)

Cortney | 21 comments He was in a band! oh... drool....

message 20: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments A little girl in my neighborhood just had a birthday and my son gave her a long blond wig as a gift so she could be Rapunzel. She wore it all day today. Made me think of your discussion here :)

I just watched Killers last night. It was better than I expected. Still a love story, but there's a lot more killing in it than I expected. I want to see The Social Network more because I am interested in how it all came about, that and Justin Timberlake is in it.

message 22: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq | 177 comments I want to see LET ME IN

message 23: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I like those kids in that movie. It seems like it'll be an exact copy of the original one?? If you don't mind subtitles, the original is streaming on Netflix.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Easy A was awesome! Very clever. Olive's parents were the funniest ever!

message 25: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I just boxed up all my Nancy Drews and Sweet Valley Highs for my daughter Lexie when she gets older. I had them on my book shelf for 20 years. The problem was that I needed to make room on my book shelf for all the new books I'm getting. I love when I clean up my bookshelf, it looks so pretty. (until I run out of room again and books are just put on haphazardly.)

message 26: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Wendy I just thought I need to clean up my bookshelves, now you made me feel like I really need to do it.

message 27: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It always leaves you with such a good feeling to see all your books organized and orderly.

message 28: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I need another bookcase in order clean up the ones I have. I can't handle packing away any of my books. I only buy the ones I absolutely love and therefore re-read a lot. I would hate to go searching through boxes if I got a hankering to read a particular book.

message 29: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Thats how I am now, but the books I had on there were from 20 years ago. I had to force myself to face the fact that I wasn't going to read Nancy Drew again.

message 30: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I guess ten or twenty years in the future my taste in books might change a bit, but I doubt I'll ever pack away some of my books. I have a fairytales, myths, legends, and short biographical stories collection I've had since I was eight that I re-read every year and could never pack away.

message 31: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) To be honest I wouldn't either if I had room for another large bookshelf. I could find room, but my husband says I'm going to fill the house with books and bookshelves. I don't really see a problem with this.

message 32: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Lol! me neither. I told my husband before we got married that when we built our dream house it better have a Beauty and the Beast type library in it or he would have a very disgruntled wife on his hands. We'll see what happens.

message 33: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Thats what I said, haha. I told him that eventually when we're settled in our house for the rest of our lives it needs to have 4-5 bedrooms and a finished basement. The basement for him, 2 bedrooms for the daughter I have now, and any future child. 1 for a playroom, and 1 for our master bedroom. Then 1 for floor to ceiling, wall to wall bookshelves and a chaise lounge.

message 34: by Eden (new)

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) | 135 comments Easy A looks like a funny movie. The last movie I saw in the theater was Legend of the Guardians and I really enjoyed it.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Becca and Wendy - Books storage was the main reason I bought a Kindle. Our house is too small, not enough room for more than one bookcase. It holds my Harry Potter, Twilight, Left Behind, Eragon and Sookie Stackhouse series. Even got my hubby to read books on his phone.

Eden - Legend of the Guardians looks good too. I love owls. Don't think I'll be able to get the hubby to go to that one so will wait for the DVD.

message 36: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I got a deep shelf that will hold Trade Paperbacks in two rows, some even hold 4 if I stack in two rows two on top of two, lol.

I just took my daughter to the doctor and found out that she needs glasses. I've worn glasses since I was about 10 so I was bummed. She was thrilled, lol.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

I remember being thrilled when I got glasses at 18. I wore them for about a couple weeks and then went and got contacts. Haha! Is your daughter a teenager? Glasses seem to be all the rage right now.

message 38: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) She's 6, but she loves to think she's a teenager. She's decided she wants purple ones. I'm actually nervous she threw the eye exam in order to get glasses. They said her left eye is 20/100! That just seems ridiculous.

message 39: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Purple is cool. I would laugh hysterically if she really did throw the eye exam.

I have a deep bookcase too that I can do the double rows on, but I hate doing it cause I can never remember which books are back on the second row. It's actually a case that doesn't have a back so you can put two rows facing out on either side, but I have it against a wall right now. The apartment just doesn't afford enough space for a double sided bookcase in the middle of the floor.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Does your eye doctor also do the computerized exam where you put your chin on a holder and stare at an image on the screen? You can't fake that one. :)

message 41: by Gwennie (last edited Oct 04, 2010 11:27AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) yeah, he does that one. And it blurs as you watch it? Thats why I'll be interested in hearing what he says. Last year she was fine and now it's 20/100? something seems fishy.

Becca - It bothered me too, but thats where I kept those Sweet Valley High's and Nancy Drews I never read, lol.

message 42: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) UGH! I accidentally bought a book. My beloved Kindle has betrayed me!!!

Return it! They're great at letting you return it when you click in error, at least in my experience.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, what Scott said. Go online and return it.

message 45: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) For the Kindle? I didn't get an option to return it. It was in my Kindle before I had a chance to turn off the wireless. You've been successful in getting refunds after it downloaded? I haven't opened it yet.

I think they knew I clicked in error. It was on my Kindle way too fast.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

I think you can go online and click something like "ordered by error". If not, call them. They're awesome.

message 47: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I didn't see an ordered in error button anywhere. Not even in the digital order pages. Maybe they want to discourage people? I emailed them because its late and I'm pretty sure my voice is four octaves deeper than normal. I'll be sure to complain here if I don't get my money back.

message 48: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Four octaves deeper than normal? wow, I don't think I can even achieve that when I'm sick. Gees girl!

message 49: by Scott (new)

Scott Collins | 4 comments I called customer service when I did the same thing. They took it right off and refunded my money no questions asked.

Tis the price I pay for having such a beautiful singing voice /end lies/

I was inspired to write that after watching the clip of Anything You Can Do (youtube) over and over with the kids.
