TEAM THREAD: Team #2 The G.L.O.B.

It's probably been 2 years since I read the first 6 books in this series, and I've had this one on my actual physical bookshelf for over 6 months. I don't know why I didn't have the urge to read it, I guess I had just forgotten how much I loved the series. Crazy. :) Because Bishop writes such a wonderful world, and such fleshed out characters. I love her characters, and the emotions, and the life or death drama--I couldn't put this one down once I started.
I still think the original trilogy was the best of the series, but it's still great to go back and visit Bishop's wonderful world. :)

The book was interesting enough for me to finish it, but only just. I don't know if I even care enough to read anymore of the series. I had a hard time staying interested in it even though its quite a short book. I think the general idea of a female vampire hunter was pretty cool but I just didn't care for it. I didn't like Anita much at all. Overall, I feel very meh about the whole story. I did get a βgritty detective novel' vibe from parts of the story but not enough to make me like it.

YAY! Welcome back, even if for a bit, LLL! :D
Good luck with all the holiday festivities and the cook book! That's a great idea, hope you're able to get everything done in time for the big party.

I think I've got everyone's reads marked correctly, but if I'm missing anyone's review/book, please let me know.

Okay. So, rating this book is not easy. First of all, it was extremely slow and uneventful for the first 70%. Sure, it kept me going thanks to all of the cliffhangers that ended each chapter, but most of the time I felt as though Bloodfever was more of an inner dialogue from Mac than a story being told. Although when I came to the final chapters I truly started to enjoy it and really fell into the story. My mind's screaming at me to buy the next one so I can find out what's happening! However, I don't really want to continue this series; there are too many things annoying me and I don't want to wait for more than half a book to pass for some action. Still, I can't stop. Especially since I'm dying with curiosity for who and what Barrons is.
I did like this much better than the first one, even if I still find Mac and her hints of the future annoying. Mac does actually start to grow into her role though! I feel like a proud mama. If it was better in general, I don't know. But since I knew what to expect this time, I was able to focus on enjoying it. Nevertheless, one thing's for sure; Moning's mythology really is good!

It sure does! I seriously can't make myself stop. People keep asking why on earth I continue reading something I'm only complaining about, haha. They'll never get it until they try... ;)

And if you need help picturing Barrons in your head, I use David Gandy. It works. It realllllly works. ;)

Good Job!! :D

Congrats on the recent stamp, The GLOB!
Sarah emailed me and said she was reading Grave Witch for the current shelf.
Okay, so I had to get Faefever, since my curiosity won over the economy. Hehe. Noticed that it was on the Dark Urban Fantasy shelf just now, and since I've already started it, I think maybe I'll change to that. Sorry! Just can't ignore those cliffhangers!
I thought I'd like Darkfever as well, but I didn't find it very good at all. I was more annoyed, but I was also told it gets better with time, which is why I gave it another try. If it hadn't been for the cliffhanger in the end of Bloodfever, I probably wouldn't have continued. Now I've read about half of Faefever and I've enjoyed it from the beginning (which is a first) and I'm starting to realize that I'm probably hooked. I'm hoping it'll continue!
About Anita Blake, it really does get better with each book. I recently re-read the first one, and I can't really compare it to the others (especially not Blood Noir, which is the last one I read.)

Β½ (Probably. I have a hard time deciding!)
I'll have to admit it: I am hooked. I never thought I would be, but here I am. The question is if I really like this series or if it's just addictive? Either way, I'm lost. The first thing I did after finishing this, was to log on to Amazon and get Dreamfever. I don't know if I should be happy to be able to continue reading, or devastated that I'll have to wait for the last one, as the rest of those addicted to this series. My, oh my.
Well, the future hints I've been complaining about before, has now made my jumpy instead, and I really am proud of Mac - her task is not the easiest one and I think she's grown a whole lot since the first book. I really don't know what to say. I'm still in shock from the way Faefever ended, and I keep glancing down at the Kindle for PC application I have open right next to this window. I might have to say that this is worthy of more than a 4,5 star rating (might reach 5!) and it's definitely my favourite Fever book so far. Definitely.

Oh yes, I'm glad it's not more than that! And I was actually shocked when I saw the release dates. My thought was: Wow, talk about torturing readers. Haha. I'm not sure I even want to know how Dreamfever ends! It's probably even worse than the rest...

Amazon Ink is a UF with a new twist--Amazon warriors. It's about a woman, Mel, who left her Amazon tribe with her daughter, mother & grandmother after the death (murder?) of her baby boy. Yep, the Amazons give away or kill all the baby boys.
Mel wants to wash her hands of all things Amazon, which is hard to do when young Amazon women start showing up dead on her doorstep. Literally, on her doorstep.
It was a good book, nothing phenomenal, but it is a 1st book in a series. I'll probably read the next book, but I'm in no rush.

Sin Undone was a nice ending to Demonica. I think Sin was my fave female character of the series. But I didn't love it--I think I'm just PNR'd/Demonica'd out. I just had no urge to pick it up, it wasn't "unputdownable" for me. But that could have something to do with me feeling guilty every time I read lately, what with me not having a present wrapped yet. I'm starting today, I swear! :)

Once again this series' had a bad influence on my sleeping habits. I really don't know any other series that's managed to keep me up this late with each book. Shift definitely took a huge turn from the plot so far, which I didn't see coming at all! And even though it isn't one of my favourites, I still really enjoyed it - as I have with all of them - and my heart, as always, keeps aching for Marc; I'm starting to wonder if it'll ever stop. Can't wait to read the last one; I'm sure anything could happen!

I really do enjoy this series, however it never quite reaches a five star rating. I find it slow at times and A Caress of Twilight was a bit uneventful until the last 20%. It has everything I like in a book; love, magic, action (and lovely men, of course), yet it still didn't succeed to capture my whole attention. Instead I've been able to read three books in between finishing this one. Maybe it's just not meant to be read in one sitting, I don't know. But I will definitely continue reading about Meredith, because even if it might be slow at times, I do love the story as well as characters. I just hope that the action will increase with each book - it is still early in the series.

But I do have all my presents wrapped, which is a record for me, usually I'm doing it all on the 23rd--can't do it on Christmas Eve since we have my whole family over here and they're always here really late. Really late, like 2:00 or 3:00am. So after they leave, I hurry and get the kids wrapped Santa presents out of hiding, and try to get a few hours of sleep before they're waking us up begging to open presents. :)
Off to clean my bathrooms. Then maybe I'll start my floors...no, the pigs I live with will mess them up before Friday, better do those tomorrow night...Yes, they'll mess up the bathrooms too, but if I super clean them now, they'll just need a Clorox wipe on Friday. :)
Can you tell I have too much to do? I can't get organized, so I just sit on the computer and type about what I need to do instead of doing it. I need help. ;)

Steph was right, just crazy busy with the holidays--shopping, working extra hours to be able to do more shopping, decorating, parties, volunteering @ kids' schools for holiday stuff, kids holiday school programs, girl scouts, basketball practice, yada yada yada. And my mom and I are making a family cookbook for our extended family, to have finished by the 18th for our family Christmas party. 50 cookbooks with over 200 recipes. It's been a 6 month project that has become urgent in the last 2 weeks. It finally dawned on our procrastinating butts that we needed to get it printed with enough time to assemble 50 books. Oops, forgot about that part. ;)
Plus, I knew if I popped in at GR, I'd end up spending hours here that I didn't have, so I kept putting it off. :)
I'm updating our BINGO stats right now, and I'm going to read Amazon Ink for the UDF shelf. I'm also reading Alpha this month, but I picked up Amazon Ink @ the library last night and lucked out that it was on page 14 of 15 on the shelf. :)
