I've abandoned the TBR shelf and folder to reread Christmas booksthis week. Today it's the 1998 Signet anthology A Regency Christmas. I just finished Barbara Metzger's delightful novella "Three Good Deeds."

Since I discovered Lauren Willig last week, I'm reading one from the rest of the series, The deception of the Emerald Ring. Loving it so far.

Oh God! I totally forgot about it! Thanks DLS

Glad you are enjoying Anne Gracie, EJfan! I felt the same way when I first read her. I had started THE PERFECT RAKE, and the prologue was so dark I stopped reading. Then about six months later, I was sick at home with a terrible cold on Thanksgiving and I picked it up again. You can imagine how annoyed I was with myself for not having read her sooner. I devoured all her books I could find.

I'm feeling the same way about Lauren Willig now!

And DLS, thanks for the reminder about EJ's novella!

Theresa Romain | 420 comments I departed from romance to read Bill Bryson's At Home--just finished it last night. Lots of great info on everyday life in the 19th century, for those of you who write or read Victorian! Next up, I'll finish Zoe Archer's Blades of the Rose quartet.

I would love to get hold of EJ's novella, out today--but I don't have an e-reader, and I can't use the Kindle app for Mac (my computer's not an Intel Mac; it's one of the older ones). Anyone else in the same boat? Is there a Nook app that might work?

Theresa, is a Nook app for MAC, but the requirement is for a Mac OS X 10.5 or later. Not sure if yours is covered there. Here's a link, just in case:

Another that might work is the Sony/Adobe reader. It says it does support MACs aside from the Intel ones.

You can download a free B and N reader onto your computer and read it there.

Theresa Romain | 420 comments Thanks, Manda and Dls! I'll give the Nook reader a try. My OS should work with it; I just didn't have the right processor for the Kindle app.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what EJ did with Wick's story! is this her first e-novella? I remember that she wrote something connected with FanLit in '06 or '07, but that might have been only a story.

She has two novellas in collections--one with Lucius of Much Ado about You as a secondary character, and one that stands alone. One collection is called Talk fo the Ton--I forget what the other is called. There are also some pieces on in the readers section that are a lot of fun that I don't think were published elsewhere.

It's called The One that Got Away. I've got those--I grab up everything by Eloisa and JQ. But I didn't know if Storming was her first e-only novella. I'd hate to miss something!

BTW, Dls and Manda, thanks for the Nook suggestion. It did work, and for $1.99, Storming is now mine. :) It comes with excerpts from A Kiss at Midnight and When Beauty Tamed the Beast, too.

I so totally agree! I just finished The Accidental Wedding. It seemed slow to me, but then the last 80 pages flew and I realized how well she crafted the story. Whew. The only slow thing was my reading speed.

I really liked EJs novella. I have a whole bunch of preorders lined up for Tuesday: the new Carr, the Ej-jq-cb book, the new Gurhke. It should be a happy holiday!

Calila Read The First Love Cookie Club by Lori Wilde. Enjoyed it but not as much as I expected too.
