Jackie, does she have one after ALLiS? I still like Duke of Shadows of all her books best, I think, but everything of hers is terrific.

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments And Cindy, if you'd just waited to start it after this weekend, VOM would have counted toward the free-space read. LOL. It's not like there aren't plenty more choices out there.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments *smacks self upside head*

I thought the BOM had to be within the time frame of the game????? Doesn't really matter, I have several books I can use for the free space.

Loved Fallen!

Not that I know of. Duke of Shadows is also my favorite by her.

Vivian (_vivian) | 1934 comments My Life as A White Trash Zombie (White Trash Zombie, #1) by Diana Rowland

Love the cover and the book inside is just as great!

message 1558: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Looks interesting, I love her other series so I might have to invest in this one too :)

I've just received Shadowflame (Shadow World, #2) by Dianne Sylvan through the post. I'm not as excited as I should be about it but I am curious as to what I think by the end of the book. I hope it wows me.

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments Oooo, Josie, I'm jealous! Still waiting for mine. Let me know what cha think of it.

I'm reading Personal Demons. About 25% into it and enjoying it so far. Frannie's one lucky girl to have such hotties vying for her attention.

Ooops! It does. Sorry, I didn't really examine that rule closely enough.

I think this heat has fried my brain. But hey, things will be improving today. Heat index of only 113. If you haven't noticed yet, I really dislike hot weather.

message 1561: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments Yuck! Stay cool, Daffodil! :)
Sending cool breezes your way ...

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I know exactly how you feel Daffodil. I don't even look at the heat index. It's bad enough just knowing we have had 38 days of 100+ heat here. It isn't even August yet!!!!

message 1563: by Mafi (new)

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I'm reading Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White . Waiting for the shelf announcement in Bingo.

Steph.....STEPH!!!!! Wake up sleepyhead!

message 1565: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments I've just started reading Wolf's Glory by Maddy Barone . I really enjoyed the first one. It's post-apocalyptic PNR with werewolves and very few women so they're all virgins which makes for hilarious reading when they use old romance novels as their dating guides.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Ames - that sounds wonderful.

message 1567: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments I'll have to check that one out, Ames. Sounds good.

message 1568: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments It does sound funny. :)

message 1569: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments I'm reading Eternal Hearts (A Darkness Within, #2) by Jennifer Turner . I'm liking it, but not as much as I loved Eternal Seduction by Jennifer Turner . I'm only 30% in though, so maybe that'll change. Not to mention that it's been 2.5 yrs in between books, so I've read a lot since the first in the series.

message 1570: by Mafi (new)

Mafi | 63 comments Now I'm reading Clouds Among the Stars by Victoria Clayton by Victoria Clayton

message 1571: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 18 comments I think I need to stop looking in here or my TBR is going to get way out of control. Wolf's Glory by Maddy Barone looks great and now I also want to read Eternal Seduction (A Darkness Within, #1) by Jennifer Turner

I already have about 2 years worth of reading on the TBR list and a kindle full of books to read but I just can't seem to help myself adding and buying more!

I am having a short break from the Mercython and reading Divine Misdemeanours (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton before starting River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, #6) by Patricia Briggs

message 1572: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments LOL Bookgirlie! You are not alone. This thread, and many others around SOS, have led me to build a TBR stack larger than I'd ever thought possible. :)

message 1573: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments LOL, just like all the different and interesting books that Mafalda reads :)

I agree that this is a dangerous thread.

Speaking of such I'm reading Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance and enjoying it immensely. A great UF book.

message 1574: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I know, Mafalda is a machine! She flies through them. Very jealous ;)

Sandra, is that a re-read or the first time you've read TtD? If it's new-to-you then I'm very glad you're enjoying it, IMO it gets better and better as they continue. I don't know if I've said this before (tehe), but Cassie Palmer is my fave series! :)

message 1575: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments First time read for me, but I have read both Dorie's books.

So a new and interesting perspective on Louis-Cesare & Mircea.

message 1576: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Finished Sizzle and Burn (Arcane Society, # 3) by Jayne Ann Krentz book #3 in Jayne Ann Krentz's Arcane series and started Obsession Untamed (Feral Warriors, #2) by Pamela Palmer book #2 in Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series.

message 1577: by [deleted user] (new)

I just read divergent. Really good book! Cant wait for #2 which comes out on may 2012

message 1578: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Divergent is on my list, it is interesting how it seems people either love it or do not like it.

I need to catch up on the Cassie Palmer series -- I have to read 4. I need some more Pritkin!

Per my usual M.O. I am all over the place, I am reading:
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, #3) by George R.R. Martin Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant and listening to DROWN

I like Feed, I am about 35-40% in but I am not hooked. I am able to put it down for a few days. I am not bored by it, I do not dislike any of it at all -- just not compelling.

message 1579: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 1220 comments I'm reading Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb and wondering what the heck took me so long to start this series! I was having a serious case of not wanting to go to work this morning so I could just stay home and read. :)

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Steph.....oh Steph.....PLEASE don't tell me about yet ANOTHER LONG series that I must read.....my shelves have no room left!

message 1581: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Glad to hear that Steph! I've only recently added the whole series to my 'Better Late Than Never' challenge. Daunting but I'm slowly collecting all the books in the hope that I will get through them all - not at once though ;)

Steph that is frustrating. Sometimes I don't know if it is me that has changed or the series.

@ Ames that book sounds pretty funny. I will look for your review.

message 1583: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments J. D. Robb (Nora Roberts)'s In Death series is sooooooo good; why not try them on audio; they have an excellent narrator.

message 1584: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I listened to the first 3 or 4 on audio, I agree the narration is good.

message 1585: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 1220 comments I'll have to look into the audio!

@Cindy - sorry, I couldn't help but try to spread the love! :) My to-read pile is absolutely huge. I don't think there's an end in sight! And what do I do, but keep coming on here and looking to see what everyone else is reading, which just ends up leading to more being put on my list!

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments LOL - I know. I do the same thing! I probably have 800 books physically in my house just waiting to be read. So.....what do I do?????

My grandson needed a book for a summer reading assignment. Didn't have it at Walmart or the HalfPriceBooks nearest me. Ended up going to 2 different B & N stores to get it. Bought The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter and a book for my 4 yr old grandson. Then, got Flesh Eaters (Dead City, #3) by Joe McKinney . SIGH.....too many books, not enough time!

Amy or "Ames" wrote: "I've just started reading Wolf's Glory by Maddy Barone. I really enjoyed the first one. It's post-apocalyptic PNR with werewolves and very few women so they're all virgins which makes for hila..."

That looks good, Amy. I need to get back into UF, that might be exactly the right book to do it.

Neck deep in Historical romance at the moment, and loving it. Never realised what wonderful writing there was in the genre. Finished What I Did For a Duke (Pennyroyal Green, #5) by Julie Anne Long recently and am impatiently waiting for all her other books to turn up in the mail.

Also, for all of you complaining about the heat, here's a nice cooling reminder of what winter feels like in my front yard:

It almost never snows here, so we were total tourists with it, it was great.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I feel cooler just looking at that pic! Thanks Moss! It's 104 here. I think this makes 42 days this year of 100+ temps, almost all of them consecutive days.

message 1589: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments Wow, Moss, suddenly I don't feel so cold here over the ditch :)

I wholeheartedly agree with the In Death thing happening above. Love that series. I've been getting them from the library as there are so many and I've got about 1200 books here to read & not enough space. Plus its cheaper :)

And Moss the Maddy Barone series starts with Sleeping With The Wolf by Maddy Barone and Wolf's Glory by Maddy Barone is the second one. I think she said there will be 6.

message 1590: by [deleted user] (new)

NP, Cindy, enjoy the vicarious cold!

Thanks Sandra, I'm going to look into that series. It looks really interesting.

1200 books!!!! Good lord woman.

message 1591: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments Well, what can I say, I'm a collector, an addicted collector!

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Sandra - thank you! Both for the lovely pic of your yard, and for making me feel better about my paltry 800 TBR.....

message 1593: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments Thanks Cindy, but that is Moss's front yard in NZ. No snow here in Sydney :D

Always happy to help out a fellow addict. LOL

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments *slaps forehead*

Geez.....obviously not enough caffeine in the system at that point......

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments I'm finally reading Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and loving it. :D

Lis | 4023 comments Steph wrote: "I'm finally reading Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and loving it. :D"

Me too... I just started it since I've seen all the great comments, I hope my expectations aren't set too high:)

Finished Greywalker (Greywalker, #1) by Kat Richardson and The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan . Also finished listening to Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen , which was great in audio and a very good book that I wish was a series. Starting on Spell Bound (Women of the Otherworld, #12) by Kelley Armstrong next.

message 1597: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32506 comments I was expecting a lot and initially wasn't sure. I like the beginning, but now I'm gettin' to the really good bits and YAY! I loooove hot dragons!

message 1598: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25800 comments Thank goodness for that :D

message 1600: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 1220 comments Making myself take a break from the In Death series so I can read The Help by Kathryn Stockett . A friend loaned it to me and I promised her I'd make it the next book I read. So far, it's pretty good.
