Someone wrote a parody, 'The Dragon with the Girl Tattoo'. Don't know if it's really funny or not.

Bacaan usrah? :)

Norain : Yup...that's right...but then i didnot take it as bacaan usrah...i take it as knowledge that we have to find.... I did not like those who read because they are forced to do so....

a collection of unthinkable short story...mostly touch the sensitve side of our norms and culture

Best novel. An inspiring novel especially for young man nowadays. Tariq bin Ziyad is and example of a very brave young man.

two weeks struggling to finish this book. have watched the movie and it helped me understand better.
Yet, i do not believe that Jesus have decendent
I don't hate the book because of its theories (which was stolen from Holy Blood, Holy Grail anyway) but because Dan Brown is a horrible writer. He can't write dialogue worth a damn and his prose style is clumsy. Tom Clancy for example can't wrote dialogue worth a damn but at least he hid it with suspense and tension.

any suggestion?
You can try books by Robert Harris. He writes historical fiction with a bit of mystery thrown in.

haven't read it..yet to be...
wow...the same with me...never been there...this time also busy...could not find time to go to KL
Enigma is good. It's about the Nazi Enigma code machine and the British attempts to break it. Harris' story is the fictionalised version of it (but with some elements of fact in it).
My favourite is still Fatherland. Nazi Germany won WWII so the world doesn't know about the Death Camps until a Nazi officer stumbles upon the secret and is hounded by the Gestapo and all hell breaks loose. They made a TV movie of it I think.

I've seen Band Of Brother directed by Steven Spielberg and i thinks its nice.
it plays with people'es emotions and mixed it with the actual fact.

R.K. Narayan is so far the only Indian author that I enjoy reading. Don't know why he's the only one but he is. I love his Malgudi books. Try The Painter of Signs or The Man-Eater of Malgudi.

I hope I did not read your comment. Because everytime I do, I will go straight to checking the books in our catalogue and include the books you suggested into my to-read list. I blame you for making my list longer...

My purpose in life is to distract students from their studies.
Btw, my comment up there...shouldn't it be "is the only Indian author whom I enjoy reading"? I don't know why I wrote "that".

Nice purpose you have there. I hope I can say you fail but, well... I was not taught to tell lies.

p/s : I've heard the fictional town of Malgudi is now a real town in India. Is that so?
Haven't heard anything about recreating a real Malgudi in India. What, as a tourist spot or a real village? Anyway, that's news to me.

20: Gerakan Hentam Indera by Zakaria Salleh
A story of combat between first rejiment of tentera darat and communist
place : sg chalit
simple and memorable story of a soldier and his unit

There is one extraction that i found in the book.
An interview of Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Hadi with Asiaweek :
"If we are inciting violence as UMNO alleges we won't be participating in the elections. Our participation in the democratic process is a proof that we are not propagating violence. We have representative in the state assemblies and in parliament. We believe change through the the ballot box. It is UMNO which does not believe in democracy and wants to stop all opposition parties and wants to stop all opposition parties from spreading their massage by banning the meetings."
