(I finished this last week, but I hadn't started this thread yet.)

I enjoyed it very much. I was very pleased at how fresh and funny and "modern" it seemed, even read today. Like many first-time readers of the piece, I was led to it by Connie Willis's To Say Nothing of the Dog - one of my favorite books. I was not disappointed.
(Wikipedia says it was originally intended as a serious/non-fictional travel guide! My goodness, but the author failed at that, in my opinion, even as he very much succeeded at telling a rollicking, humorous story!)
