message 31: by Shadow Jubilee (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) Cassie, could you explain this:

"Read a book that is a parody or spin-off or elaboration on a classic"

Does it mean something like Bored of the Rings A Parody of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings by Henry N. Beard or can any adaptation of, for example, fairy tales like The Fairy Godmother (Five Hundred Kingdoms, #1) by Mercedes Lackey work? Would books like Mr. Darcy's Diary by Amanda Grange be acceptable as well?

message 33: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (casswish) Niquae...I tried to describe that suggestion the best I could by what was in my head. Like, there are novels by Gregory Maguire that are sort of his own take on The Wizard of Oz and other fairy tales. Or, there's so many books by authors that are a spin-off of Jane Austen novels. Anything like that was what I was thinking of.

message 34: by Shadow Jubilee (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) Okay. So the type of books I listed above would be acceptable then? Thanks.
