Looks very good, put it to my TBR list. I see you are currently reading, how's it so far?
**
I'm currently reading The White Rajah by Tom Williams. Based on a true story, it's about James Brooke (a character I've never heard of before and I'm afraid to go to Wiki and spoil the story :)).
Important: it's a freebie :) and honestly, I don't get why, it's simply too good to be a free read.

Where do you download it?
The White Rajah? I think it was wiowio something. I hope it's still there for free. I can't go there to check ATM because the site isn't exactly worksafe, but I'm sure I got the link from the this thread: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...
Or do you ask about The Painting? I haven't searched for it yet :)

@Cleon: I'm sorry, I've searched the entire thread, but couldn't find the link to the site. I'll check my bookmarks at home and post it. There's no indication inside the file where it was dl'ed from except for Adam&Eve logo (or I just can't find it).

It's from Wowio then. perhaps I already have it on my computer since I did massive free book downloading on Wowio a few months ago.

So did I :)
So did I :)

I bought it from Amazon:

I'm only about 15% in, but I'm enjoying it. Wallace has a gift for creating the mood with her description of physical surroundings and has lovely writing style. It's too soon to say, but I suspect she's doing something similarly interesting with character: Revelations about them occur when almost like activity you catch in your peripheral vision.
I think I like the way the story is told in its context, too. It's very tightly wound around the two central characters - only rarely do historical events intrude to anchor the story at a specific time. I haven't decided yet, but I think it's a very dream-like book.

It sounds very good, John. I just don't think I'm up for something that sad right now. Let's keep track of it and maybe later in the year?."
Works for me!

@ Sagajo - You can either nominate 1 book in a month, OR second 1 book in a month, but not both.

Yup. I've bookmarked Weightlessbooks. I am waiting for payment so I can pay via Paypal. Currency conversion rate sucks. lol.

@Cleon - Are you thinking of nominating 1 of these books for the July read?

@Cleon - Are you thinking of nominating 1 of these books for the July read?"
Nah. I'll just go with the flow. I'll support any fantasy/paranormal book though. Unless I know it's awful. lol.
I'll second Hemovore, whether it's out in paperback or not! Heck a JCP book I haven't read yet... isn't that a crime? lol. And there's my vote for the July read.
Sagajo- If I remember them correctly the rules go like this: you can either nominate a book to be read, OR you can second a book someone else has nominated. You just can't do both. Does that answer your question?

Actually, you nominate Hemovore and I second it since I technically don't nominate anything. LOL.

If I'm not completely mistaken, Cleon mentioned Last Line by Harper Fox as a possible group read for July here. Maybe somebody still wants to nominate it?
And there was some discussion about the Administration series, but I'm not sure wether it was suggested as July read or not. :-)

Thanks Jordan! Then I nominate Khyber Run by Amber Green.

Oh I definetely recommend Turncoat! Wicked Gentlemen is also fantastic. And Hemovore... and Infected. I am such a fantasy slut! :P

I previously only want to tell you guys about what I am planning to read. Sorry to cause confusion to everyone.
Jordan nominates Hemovore and I second it. I forgot I wanted to nominate Last Line. lol. But I've seconded Jordan's choice before I remember about Last Line, so I second Hemovore now.

I think you can buy a prc/mobi version at weightless books.
Comment on infected; it is actually a series, don't know if that matters.

It's not available through Amazon, but you can get it in MOBI (and several other formats) from weightlessbooks.com

I think it has to be available as an ebook and a paperback.

I'll second Khyber Run, sounds interesting!"
I don't think you can second and nominate a book but I'm fuzzy on the rules of this.

I'll second Khyber Run, so..."
Yvonne is correct, Emannela. If you nominate a book, you cannot also second another book. You have to decide which you want to do.

I nominate The Cranberry Hush: A Novel.
I'd like to suggest to cancel "one nomination/one seconding per person" rule. I feel that it limits the number of choices.

I'm so completely without self-control. I finished it last night and posted a some comments.

Read them :) Sounds like my kind of book

I like the rule because it keeps one person from controlling all the books we vote on and gives us more variety to choose from.
I also like the way the m/m group does it, which is just nominate a book and give a reason why. They don't need anyone to second it before it's added & up for a vote.

@ Suhi - Look at Josh's Message #41 on the June Read thread for an explanation of why he wants it that way.
Suhi, I was thinking that last month, but right now, I'm finding that it makes things much easier for me. If there's nothing nominated that I would read I'll nominate something I already have but haven't read yet.
If there's something nominated already that I'd like to read, I'll second it.

Thanks Becky (and Yvonne). But why on earth isn't it on Kindle? Why do I have to sign up at another website and use paypal? This can't be good for this book's sales. What is the thinking?

That is Josh's rule. He wants to be sure there is enough enthusiasm for the chosen book and the the number of books is kept to a reasonable number. The first month he had to have a runoff.

You don't have to sign up, unless you want to be able to access the book every time you want to. You can simply purchase it.

No clue. I know I prefer to get my books through Amazon, because I often get gift cards from family and friends for Christmas or birthdays, or Fictionwise for the discounts. Nicole edits for Blind Eye Books, and the author was in here posting the other day. One of them might be able to answer you.

I'd like to nominate [book:Wicked Gentlemen. I've heard so many good reports about it in this group and would love to read/discuss with you guys. Here's the blurb:
Belimai Sykes is many things: a Prodigal, the descendant of ancient demons, a creature of dark temptations and rare powers. He is also a man with a brutal past and a dangerous addiction. And Belimai Sykes is the only man Captain William Harper can turn to when faced with a series of grisly murders.
But Mr. Sykes does not work for free and the price of Belimai's company will cost Captain Harper far more than his reputation. From the ornate mansions of noblemen, where vivisection and sorcery are hidden beneath a veneer of gold, to the steaming slums of Hells Below, Captain Harper must fight for justice and for his life.
His enemies are many and his only ally is a devil he knows too well. Such are the dangers of dealing with the wicked.
