I've always thought of him as her sentry.

Ahhh Galahad...the cat that tripped Summerset and delayed his vacation. Eve was pretty sure he did it on purpose....ha ha
I always find it funny when Roarke chastises the cat as if he's a real person, saying "we've discussed this before."

Me too, I think it is hilarious and the cat seems to understand it.

He usually succeeds! At least when he goes begging to Eve...

Yes, and when they both give him the evil eye when he comes begging for food. Does anyone remember if he succeeding in copping some food when no one gave him permission or wasn't looking? (pun intended)

Oh, he cops Roarke's bacon all the time.

Truer words, Stephen. My cats do the same things. They also sometimes turn their noses up at their food, even though you know they're hungry. They just like to make a statement. I think Galahad did that probably in the same part of the book.
He also begs for food even though he has already eaten, typical.

I enjoy Galahad, but am not really much of a cat person. Personally, I think they need an ongoing character to add a DOG!

Try this: Close your eyes (figuratively, as you'd have a hard time reading the rest of this with your eyes closed) and imagine Roarke, getting ready in the morning... He puts on an immaculate and very expensive suit... And then a laborador jumps up on him and COVERS his beautiful clothes in dog hair.
I love cats AND dogs (we have 2 of each!), but I just can't see it...

And I'm not thinking of the 'love everybody' type dogs like Labs or Goldens, I think it would work better with a Doberman, Rottweiler, Mastiff, Bull Terrier person ... something with a little 'edge'.

And yes ... Peabody would be great with a dog, with her background, sensible ... and McNab would do absolutely idiot things with it.

I love how both Dallas and Roarke took him in. To me, he was a lost little guy. His owner had been murdered and here was Dallas, toughie that she is, bringing him home with her. Maybe a kinship? Maybe kismet.
"Tell him I took the cat."
I love it and I'm very glad he's there.

Mine too, Quynh. But then that's our Roarke.
And I think the term Sentry is perfect for Galahad...Eve's guard.

LOL..and I'm betting he would rule the roost. Galahad did truly act as a sentry keeping watch over Eve per Quynh's example...waiting for Roarke to come home.
In Immortal, Roarke finds Galahad decorated with beads and red bows (by one of the house guests)! He tells Eve it was humiliating for them both! I can just picture this cat crawling out from under the bed with all that stuck in his fur! lol

ROFLMBO!! Oh yes! And maybe do some wash out dye in Eve's hair and put in the beads and red bows! LOL...

Yes...you're right...I can just picture her though! The tat is a good idea...I can just see Roarke's face! Gosh, I love that man! Has there ever been a better male character?!
