What do you guys think of I Am Number Four so far?
I am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1) by Pittacus Lore
I'm only starting the book now and haven't gotten that far yet. I'm glad we're reading it this month because I want to read it before I watch the movie. Already I can see some similarities between the movie and the book, but that's to be expected. From the beginning you can tell it's going to be a great dramatic book. If you haven't gotten the book yet, I really recommend that you do.

I loved this book! Aliens were a nice change from vampires, werewolves, and angels :) The movie was good too, although there were quite a few changes to it. (comes out on dvd May 24th!! !)

I just finished the book. It is so great and Jenna is right. It does provide a nice break from vampires. I am definitely going to watch it. I love Henri (not in a deep desire kind of way)! I'm probably going to race to a bookstore to get The Power of Six.

too late for me, already saw the movie (and the book is usualy not that interesting if you've seen the movie first).
As for aliens, I honestly recommend "The Host" by Stephany Meyer, it was so awsome !!!! and the sequel is so far away :(

I feel the same way. I can't read a book if I've already seen the movie version. I remember when I was younger, I watched Ella Enchanted, and then when I found out it was an actual book I got it immediately, but I found it hard to finish because I already knew the story.

I didn't know the sequel to The Host was ever going to come out. They've been saying for years that it will come out soon. It kind of made me lose hope that the series would ever finish.

Jurga | 37 comments It will ! Unfortunately only in 2012 there will be "The Soul" and sometime later "The Seeker". BTW there will be the movie of The Host 2013 I guess, and the lead actress is revieled

Yeah, a little. In an attempt to bring us back on topic, I have question to ask. Do you think they will make a second movie after I am number four? I think a lot of people will be disappointed if they don't because the whole movie was just them setting up the story for the next part. If they don't do a second movie, it kind of makes this movie pointless because it ends at a cliffhanger.

Jurga | 37 comments oh yeah, I'm sure there will be the second movie, I could tell that by the end of the first one.

I hope so. I don't want some jerk to be like, "We're shutting this project down because I don't think it will make me enough money."

Sara (♥ hearts Alec Lightwood♥) | 28 comments i am number four is really good

Alice (alicelhonda) i liked the book, but was kind of disappointed when i finished it. i was expecting more... the movie was definitely better

Erin I loved it, Our grade 7 teachers last year read it to us, he even brought us on a field trip to watch the movie in the theaters after we read it. I personalty didn't like the movie though because it left out to many parts in the book that I liked such as the house setting on fire. >_<

Rosie | 4 comments I thought it was pretty good; It was kinda slow in the beginning with explaining how John's powers work... In the end, the plot was kind of rushed in the end with all the action.

I agree. That was my frustration, too, after seeing the movie DVD. I got to read the book first so I was really expecting for the movie to get the essential parts of the book. But I enjoyed the series a lot. Hope the 3rd book would tie up the series well. :)

Christie Cote (christiecote) I loved it! It is probably one of my favorite books. I didn't want to put it down.

I think they were planning for at least six books in the series but hopefully gets together in the next book.

Rebecca I've got to say, even though I enjoyed I am Number Four, I wasn't a massive fan. I felt that it did to aliens what Twilight did to Vampires and Werewolves, it made them sanitised and palatable for the masses. It made it, well, 'Pop-ish'. An OK read, decent story, but not one of my favourites.

i get what your saying. it is kind of commerical, but i think it gets more of a voice and has a little more character in the power of six.

Emily I (emilyi) I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!

Stevie | 14 comments AWESOME!!!!

Stevie | 14 comments but i dont find the movie really followed the book much. the book was WAY better., as always. but im glad i decided to read it after i watched the movie.

The Scarecrow (thescarecrow) | 1 comments This book's bland characters, their shallow goals and the pretentious, dithery writing made me weep in despair, and it sure as hell was NOT because the world was potentially ending because of an alien invasion.
