Hi James, I just added your blog to my list to follow.
Mine is up there in the list somewhere but I'll re-post:

My battery power is running down but I promise to look at your blog closer and maybe post on mine if that's okay with you.

Lynn Hallbrooks (lynnhallbrooks) Hi James, I finally got a chance to look closer, I like what you have to say on there. I'm wobbling on the side of going to get a twitter account. Plus we are trying to get our book ready for Smashwords...so I guess that would be a good time to update all of the e-books. Maybe by then I'll have a twitter account and can put that information on there.

So much to think about and do...the hurrier I go the behinder I get...or something like that.

Thanks for the love and the support.

James Birch (jameswallacebirch) | 37 comments Lynn,

Thanks so much! I realized that many people are new to social media stuff so I am just trying to think of some things that might help people, since I've worked in that area. I wouldn't stress it too much, as long as what's working for you is working. right?! :) I'm learning a ton so far and am just getting my feet wet in terms of meeting people and learning about the indie community. so many nice people!

btw, weird! no it isn't moved.. i don't think :) you should find it at:

I've seen a bit about this 'independent authors..' website you mentioned in your post but I don't understand the site itself. It seems a little complicated in terms of navigating- any insights you can give?

Hi James,

Yes, new to Facebook...haven't done twitter. Done alot of different communications through computer though. As for your site. It seems to be having problems through the blogger dashboard but if I click on it here I don't. Maybe because it is so new. I'll check again tomorrow.

The independent author and writers website is a little different. It is Word Press based if that helps any. First register then you get assigned a dashboard. I know once your dashboard is available you'll automatically see your post. If you look just above that there are some words...the one I look for is all. That brings up all the threads. Then it looks like a blog that has comments underneath. That's the best way I can think to explain it. Mostly it has been trial and error. The guy that designed can be reached through the contact...button.

Hope that helps. I'm on different boards and stuff just trying to do what I can to promote and help others.

Lynn

Edit to add missing conversation.

The first is purely for YA books and the other is for chick lit / romance
So if you have any book trailers in those genres, please come on over and have a look!

Yes, Independent Authors and Writers is terrific!

Glad you like the cover art. As you probably read, my oldest son is the illustrator. We had a great time putting the book together and hope the kiddies (and moms and dads) will enjoy it.

I started a blog recently and, as it is something I'm still very new at, it is still very green. My intention is for it to be a place where people can learn about my soon-to-be self-published book, Color-Gifted (the first of a series) and the rest to come!
Any suggestions or tips - or just a hello! - are very much appreciated! Thank you all and have a lovely day : )

You're welcome. I started a couple of threads last night. My intention is to help the indie authors find a place to put their books for sale and hopefully viewed by reader/buyers. Might be helpful for some of our fellow indie authors here.

That is very exciting, what else is there to the story? The plot etc.

mountainmama (jcallenbooks) | 60 comments That is very exciting, what else is there to the story? The plot etc."

The girls actually find a cube that is a map to the time machine. When they find the machine in a cave, they realize they have to travel back in time to retrieve parts (jewels) to the machine that will allow them to travel to a certain date to stop the destruction of the earth in the future. So most of the story is about their adventures in different eras where they're seeking the "jewels".
