I finally started Julie Anne Long's What I Did For a Duke over the weekend and am loving it. But I'm taking my time to savor every word.
I've yet to read JAL's What I Did For A Duke, Manda. It's in my tbr pile but I've got all these others that keep jumping up to the front. I'm moving JAL's to my nightstand so I can start on it this weekend!
I really liked it even though it didn't have the "ordinary people" flavor I like ao much about her work.
I loved What I Did for a Duke. It's one of my fave reads for 2011. And I guess I'm a less fastidious reader than some because I didn't see all the errors a few readers are complaining about.
I'm reading Karen White's 10 Beach Street and am totally caught up in the mysteries and loving the lyrical prose.

I suspect some of those readers are impossible to please.

That should be Karen White's The Beach Trees. Ten Beach Road is Wendy Wax's new release, which I also plan to read soon. Why did two Georgia writers have to have books released the same month with "Beach" in the title?
Reading "Claimed by the Higlander" byJulianne MacLean. After this I think i'll continue the Bodyguard series byCindy Gerard

This week I've finished my foray into Connie Willis/sci fi and am back on Sarah MacLean's numbers series. Mostly done with Ten Ways, and Eleven Scandals is up next! Anyone know what/when Sarah's next release will be? I couldn't find it on her site.

Yay! I love hearing about new people who have enjoyed this book. I've been spreading the word since I finished the final page 14 months ago.

Have you read The Iron Duke? If so, how'd you like it? I haven't read much steampunk, but I heard such good things about TID that I bought it. Haven't yet read it, though.
Haven't read it either but as I said read the prequel. It's just not me. I like her style but that thing with steel, titanium or whatever limbs and slavery and stupid ass monsters(giant shark and kraken, really?!) just puts me of(the steel body parts the most). Maybe you'll like 'em Theresa but I don't...
I read TID first and was blown away even though the monsters etc didn't really appeal. I liked the prequel but think I probably would not have if I read it first.
Aly- When I first started reading the Iron Duke, I wasn't sure about the steampunk but by the end, it really grew on me.
Loved Roth's YA DIVERGENT and I'm now making my way through Dark Visions by L.J. Smith

I just finished Face of Danger. Can't wait for more in the series.
I've been meaning to try the Iron Duke as there's been so much buzz.

Have you read the Bullet Catchers series yet, Nai? They are just as fun. And sexy. But I'm totally with you. Can't wait for the next Angelino book:)
I finished WHAT I DID FOR A DUKE and loved it as I suspected I would. JAL is so wonderful. That she can go from the high stakes mystery/drama of Perils of Pleasure, to a totally character-driven story like WIDFAD blows my mind.
Now I'm back to Kylie Brant's DEADLY DREAMS, which I put down a week or so ago.

And, What I did for a Duke is wonderful. One of the best books I've read this year.
Well, I read the Bullet Catchers way out of order. But they are probably better if you do them in order. Just for the continuity/relationship connections. They're split into trilogies. You could start with Johnny's if you want. It's TAKE ME TONIGHT. Very good book:)
I second Manda's rec for the Bullet Catchers, Nai. The romantic suspense authors I read number in the single didgets, but I love Roxanne St. Claire's books. And it was my first Bullet Catcher that hooked me. She's an autobuy for me now.
I loved Karen White's The Beach Trees. I'll be reviewing it for The Romance Dish soon.

Squee! I just got Miranda Neville's August release, The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton from NetGalley. I'm so-o-o excited!
