Don't worry, it's not my voice! It's a virtual reality thing--read a sample and let me know what you think.

But we're still going to flip a coin and drive into the path of totality.

Every once in awhile, if I snap photos often enough, I get lucky. But usually not.

An old book about dead people, or an interesting look at Hoosier history? Possibly both.

It's what Big Astronomy doesn't want you to see! It has nothing to do with my poor ability as as photographer!

Or ... haunted. Either way, I can't blame the last year on writing, so we're steaming ahead.

Dogsitting is like having grandchildren: You can spoil them, then send them back to their parents.

Sometimes writers get desperate for book reviews--and that's when the scammers come out.

At long last we're making fast progress on Haunted Noble County, Indiana ... all that wheel spinning over winter wasn't just from the snow.

The year I was born, 1962, had 12 days above 90 degrees here. 2018 had 12 days above 90 degrees here. Last week had 12 days above 90 degrees here.

Get it before it's sold out! Um, well ... you know what I mean.

A meet-cute at the movies gets complicated: Logan is leading a battle to save the drive-in—and Maddie was sent to tear it down.

Free and cheap books are a great deal for readers ... not so much for writers.

I also included a link to Smashwords, where my novel Coming Attractions is free until the end of July:
Yes, I'm aware there might be some irony involved.

Like a chameleon, it can disappear in a flock of other ruby red ... wait. There's something different ...

Motorboarding--I initially thought this was something altogether different--was tried in 1908.

Flying body parts and universal destruction have never been so much fun.

I used to move forward with dogged determination; now I take the time to pet the neighbor's dog.

"Haunted Noble County, Indiana", is FINISHED and sent to the publisher! Now I can only wait to find out what changes they want me to make.

He's one of the few carbosilicate amorphs in the galaxy, so you know you're going to have fun ... but this graphic novel does get graphic.

I'm just the messenger, but these song lyrics should tell you how I feel:
"Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you."

And no, the winner is NOT going to be who you expect.

At one time seeing anything Christmas related before November would send me into a murderous rage. That's how I got banned from Wal-Mart one August.

We have a library now! Heaven help us if we ever move.

Okay, you also deserve chocolate and an early spring, but free book is the best I can do.

That is to say, my wife's birthday, and four days later everybody's Christmas. This proximity is part of why I often fail at both. On the brighter side, the days will be getting longer.

This week had more ups and downs than Indiana weather.

More than two people got votes for President last year, and some of them were decidedly ... odd.

Who is Fred Markey, and did he freeze to death in my outhouse? Maybe he should have covered its air conditioner.

Winterizing reminds me that winter’s coming. Winter comes every year, usually in the fall. It’s like it’s seasonal, or something.

Everything west of the Rocky Mountains is burning, everything east is freezing. It's like a Rankin/Bass stop motion special about Hell.

Okay, they have been for a month or so, but sometimes I'm slow on the promotion thing. This means most of our books can now be listened to, or so I hear.

Sometimes--and I can't believe I'm saying this--it's worth going out into the cold.

Five years ago a colonoscopy saved my life, but not in the way you'd think.
I did a book review on a poetry book written by author Frank Prem, and his real life experience of drought and bush fires in his home country of Australia.

It's time for a look at how I did in publishing last year or, as I like to put it, it's Black February.

"It's actually possible to have an ice/fire tornado, if the conditions are right. I mean, wrong."

Two things writers are used to: rejection, and silence. But sometimes it crosses the line into "what did I do to deserve this?"

Good guess! Well, four of our books, anyway, with the help of Virtual Voice. I'll explain it all in a blog this weekend. If the virtual narrator thing works out, we'll be moving into a whole new area.
