Vi | 2790 comments The September Monthly Challenge is up! This thread is for the participant's to post their list and progress.

Many Thanks to those members who stop by the Suggestions Thread to share their input. I couldn't have done it without their help.

1. 'S' is for September: Read a book that starts with 'S' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'S'.

2. Happy Birthday!: Read a book from a September birthday celebrant's GR bookshelf whose "day" falls on the same "day" as yours. If no one has the same day, choose someone with the closest day to yours. September Birthday List

3. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from Tennessee

4. Talk Like a Pirate Day: Read a book with pirates or a book set in sea or high sea adventure book.

5. Tolkien Week: Read a straight out fantasy book.

6. Business Women's Day: Read a book with a working heroine or a chick-lit or a book with a strong, kick-ass heroine.

7. Read a Book Day: Read a book that you have been meaning to read or a book that has been neglected in a series or a challenge or a random book that caught your fancy when you were browsing.

8. National Health and Physical Fitness Day: Read a book with sports as a central theme or a book with a sports related (coach, dietician etc) or a book with a character who works out a lot.

9. OcktoberFest: Read a book set in Germany or whose author was born or residing in Germany or a character who is a bartender or owns a pub.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.

Bonus Category:

In honor of the anniversary of the Twin Towers attack and September being the National Preparedness Month, there is a bonus category which is completely optional . To make it more fun, if you do this category in addition to the above 10 categories, you get a free or a joker pass in any of the above category - i.e, any book will satisfy for one of the category.

11. National Preparedness Month: Read a book set in the aftermath of any natural disaster or a terrorist attack or books where the main characters are affected by any terrorist attack (Ex: 7/11 attacks) or a post-apocalyptic book.

You can choose 3 , 5 , 8 or all 10 plus 1 bonus categories depending on your reading speed, books availability and/or time commitment.

When posting your challenge progress, please make sure to put the date/s when you finished your book/s. Please repost your progress as it helps when consolidating.
