I think this collection is fantastic, it's got stories from an amazing selection of authors, and I reckon I've been VERY restrained in not devouring it whole as soon as I got it!
Joanne Harris, Michael Marshall Smith, Peter Straub and Jodi Picoult have written some of my very favourite novels (Chocolat, Spares, The Talisman, My Sister's Keeper), so I'm really looking forward to reading their stories.
Roddy Doyle, Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Carroll, Chuck Palahniuk and Joe Hill are all on my "urgently want to read" list! I've picked out the novels I want to try, I just haven't quite managed to get round to it yet...
Richard Adams, Michael Moorcock, Joyce Carol Oates, Walter Mosley, Jeffrey Deaver and Al Sarrantonio are authors I've heard of and would like to try, but I don't know a lot about their work.
The rest I don't know at all, but they're in some seriously illustrious company so they're bound to be good. Right? :-)

We'll cover this question story by story but I'd like to have this thread too so that we can have a chat about the authors.
