Go on Kirsty, you know you want to!

Enabler!

(still love 'the house' as a character tho ;-) )
I thought it definitely reads like the first in a series, I'm not saying more than that though for fear of spoilers!

Thanks - is it quite a quick read? (Welcome to posting :)

Thanks! I'd say yes and no, I ended up backstitching it a lot but once I got into it I didn't want to put it down and it flew by all to quickly :)
Mine arrived yesterday, too. I can't wait to read it now :) A Discovery of Witches really pulled me in, and I felt kind of bereft when it was finished, so it'll be nice to rejoin Matthew and Diana :)
I've just won a copy of Shadow of Night, so I'm thinking I really should get round to reading A Discovery of Witches!
My copy got delivered today. I'm forcing myself not to start it until I've finished at least one of the three I've already started!

Yay, I need to read it soon. I enjoyed the first one.

I've just re-started this. Last year I got to page 10 & got bored. it seems to be getting better already, on page 16 now. I should've given it more of a chance I think.
I bought the 3rd book yesterday, so that's my evening planned :)
Who's read it? Thoughts? No spoilers please but did you enjoy it?

I know, it's been so long I keep forgetting who's who and what's happened so far. I probably should have reminded myself of the second book before starting this one, am enjoying it so far though. I like the present day stuff more than the time travelling bit
No I didn't enjoy the second one enough to re-read it but I did think a quick scan of the last chapter might have been a good reminder. I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of it :)
I loved them. All of them, even the second which no-one seemed to enjoy. My problem is now I don't know how to fill the void :-( any suggestions?
Have you read the Divergent trilogy? Not similar to these at all, but a little bit like the Hunger Games in a way that it's an interesting concept.
I'm speeding through The Book of Life, I do hope the ending is going to be good!

I loved it, but as with all good books I wanted more :) I have ordered the divergent book set & also the maze runner set from The works. The Maze Runner movie is out in September so I want to read the books first. I will abstain from watching Divergent til I've read the book too. I hope they are good :)
I always worry about recommending books in case people hate them!
I've not heard of the maze runner books, I shall have a look out for those I think :)

I think they are the same type of thing Jo Dystopian? Not sure of the term. It does seem to be a bit of a trend. I do hope they come soon. I'm really struggling with A Christmas Carol...
Yep, was trying to think of that word! Christmas Carol is one of my least favourite Dickens books, I know it's a good plot idea, it just isn't really my thing. Are you reading it for fun or coursework?
I've not heard of Maze Runner, either. Off to Amazon to check them out, I think! I really liked the Hunger Games, once I got past how grim the idea sounded lol.
I finished The Book of Life a few days ago. I enjoyed it more than the second one, although I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Given that the whole trilogy was leading up to it, I think I was expecting more of a fanfare. Didn't see the little twist coming, though, so that was a big point in its favour.
Have you read Lani Taylor's trilogy, Sam? It begins with A DaughTer of Smoke and Bone, and it's compared a lot to the All Souls books. I haven't started the first one yet, but it's on my shelf.

I've slowed down on my reading now, having just discovered prison break on Netflix and become slightly addicted to it! Need to pick my book back up I think
Finished. I enjoyed it but I do agree it seemed a little rushed at the end. I started to find some of the characters a bit irritating too tbh! Mind you, I found twilights Edward and fifty shades whatsisname Grey a bit annoying as well so perhaps I just don't like those possessive/controlling male characters we're supposed to find so romantic. Bluergh.
