Kara (sterlink) | 73 comments Been meaning to check out Sullivan, Michael J: Theft of Swords (#1 Riyria Revelations) for it's big library debut.

message 3: by Candiss (new)

Candiss (tantara) | 1207 comments I will be snapping up Valente's Myths of Origin. I already have 2 of the books inside, but the others are rather tough to find now. I may also get the Jay Lake eventually.

To add/missing from this list:

- One I will definitely be buying: The Folded World - Catherynne M. Valente (sequel to The Habitation of the Blessed) - Nov. 15
- Also interested: Seed by Rob Ziegler (the one you are reviewing) - Nov. 1

Helen The Sullivan is a republish isn't it? I read 1 so will go onto the others at some point. Likewise Tad WIlliams. Trying to catch up with my TBR piles at the moment though.

It's an omnibus of the first two. It's being put out now by a large publisher (Orbit).

Helen Thought I'd read something - well he actually sent me a message.

Yeah, apparently they came out under new titles and it's also part of a library debut.

Taken from the author's website:

The first five books of the series were originally indie published and later picked up by Orbit (fantasy imprint of Hachette Book Group). They are re-releasing the series as a trilogy with each volume containing two of the original books. The Orbit series consists of:

Theft of Swords (Nov 2011): The Crown Conspiracy and Avempartha
Rise of Empire (Dec 2011): Nyphron Rising and The Emerald Storm
Heir of Novron (Jan 2012): Wintertide and Percepliquis

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 372 comments What about Christopher Paolini's fourth book in his Inheritance Cycle, Inheritance coming out on November 8th?

message 10: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments I'd like to get Jack McDevitt's Firebird eventually, but not at hardcover price, especially since I'm still a book behind with the series.

message 11: by Jon (new)

Jon (jonmoss) I might buy the ebook version of Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I'm trying not to buy any physical books anymore, even though I miss getting them signed by authors.

±áé±ôè²Ô±ð (hlneb) I'll definitely get C. Valente, try a sample of Poul Anderson. I'll have to wait for a lower price with Tanya Huff's The Wild Ways. I can't stand ebooks more expensive than hardcover. :((
The new books by Cook, Coe, Duncan and Williams just make me realize how much I've to catch up.

message 13: by Amelia (new)

Amelia (narknon) Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson
Inheritance by Chrisopher Paolini

These two I need to read quickly because the rest of my family are arguing over who gets to read them next.

Snail in Danger (Sid) Nicolaides (upsight) | 187 comments I'm interested in the Valente collection and the Gilman book, once my library gets them.

message 15: by Helen (new)

Helen I'll be reading Inheritance - Paolini too. I enjoyed Crown Conspiracy, was a good swashbuckler type book.

message 16: by Ken (new)

Ken (ogi8745) | 1404 comments Wow I was kinda hoping to see the final Wheel of Time book on the list but I found out last week that it will probably be out Nov 2012.
So from that list there is nothing this month

Another book missing from the list: Send My Love and a Molotov Cocktail!: Stories of Crime, Love and Rebellion, a cross-genre anthology of short stories about "riots, revolts, love, crime and revolution" with stories by Cory Doctorow, Michael Moorcock, Kim Stanley Robinson and many more. Looks interesting. Out from PM Press in about 2 weeks.

Sandi (sandikal) | 338 comments Isn't The Alloy of Law being released this coming week? I'm really looking forward to it. I like that he's taking his medieval fantasy world into a more modern future.
