Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Welcome to the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ UK Kindle Group. We are a friendly lot here and there is something for everyone.

Please start by adding a post to our ‘Introduce Yourself thread. We are a nosey lot and would love to know who you are, what you like to read (and write), where you live and what you drink, eat, wear and grow.

This thread meanders off-topic quite a bit but as soon as a new member comes along our friendly but bonkers members soon appear to give you a warm welcome.

Of course you don’t have to introduce yourself if you prefer. You could head off to Meet The Authors, check out our monthly book selections. check out the New releases or play some Group Games
Even if you don’t feel ready to post something you are most welcome to sit back and watch the fun.

This forum is very lightly moderated (hardly noticeable), occasionally we will ask you to keep a particular thread on topic and we have a few simple rules about author threads and new releases.

There are plenty of ebook related threads, a wine discussion and a place to share your musical taste.

If you have any problems you can post questions on the threads, someone will come along and help. If you would rather not ask your question publicly by all means send a personal message (PM) to Patti or myself and we will try to help.

The plan is to clear the Introductions thread monthly to see if it makes things a bit easier for new members. Old Introductions can be found in the archive.

Im Lauren and I'm from Hull. Ive had my Kindle for 10 months and read more now than i ever have done. (which is surprising when you have a 1 year old)

Finding it all slightly confusing, when i log in its not clear were the discussion forums are?? and do i need to join every thread i want to wite in as i had to join something to write in here?? Its all confusing but i will keep chipping away at it.

Anyway thanks to everyone for their help on the amazon forum

Lauren

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Hi Lauren,

Welcome to the group. You have indeed made it. You can post anywhere on any subject. If you are an author we ask you to post promotions and news in either 'meet the authors' or 'new releases'. We don't have many rules and if you get stuck someone will always be along to help.

It is a bit confusing to start with but feel free to get involved

Mhairi Simpson (mhairisimpson) | 1158 comments Hi Lauren! I think you only need to join a group in order to take part in that group's discussions. Once you're in the group, you should be able to comment on every thread :) Just ask if you can't figure something out, this is one of the most helpful groups on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. They really are a bunch of fantastic people and I'm SO glad I found them!!

Oh, yes, and they're all totally insane. Completely and utterly. But it's a great place to discuss custard.

Er... yes, you'll understand that bit soon enough :D

I'm going to go now, in case I scare you off the forum altogether!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Welcome Lauren. If it's all too confusing just find your way back here. We'll lay down breadcrumbs for you. The gingerbread house is here somewhere....har har har he he he.

Funny when the inmates are so easily confused with the jailers, isn't it?

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Hi Lauren. It's good to hear that you're not under any illusion of sanity here.

I have to say that sometimes it's only the other voices in my head that keep me sane.

Hi Mo and welcome to the group!!

message 26: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I think Mo left. And honestly I don't blame her, for goodness sake GL did you HAVE to throw that bowl of custard over her as soon as she arrived? Not everyone likes that. Just you and Darren.

Put it in a paddling pool and we can have a wrestling tournament later

message 35: by Jud (last edited Nov 03, 2011 07:40AM) (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Clearly in a moment of insanity Anita, you forgot how insane we all are.

there should be punctuation in there somewhere but i'm not entirely sure where exactly...

...ok I stuck a comma in does it make sense?

message 36: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (raptormo) | 4 comments This is so much fun, just like being out with a group of mates, a good giggle with like minded people. To be honest i started with crime, (not doing it, reading about it), and read all sorts. I like hisrtorical mysteries, like to check out different belief systems, medical just all sorts. Looking forward to more good banter and book chatter. Thank you all for a lovely welcome.

message 37: by Jud (new)
